Forum:Chains and Stardust Dragon's effect?

From Yugipedia

Player A has a Mermail Abyssmegalo, Atlantean Marksman, and Atlantean Heavy Infantry in his hand.

Player B has a face-up Stardust Dragon, a face-up Red-Eyes Darkness Metal Dragon, and a Set Spell/Trap.

Player A activates Mermail Abyssmegalo from his hand, discarding the 2 Atlanteans fromm his hand to Special Summon it. As Chain 1, he selects Atlantean Marksman and targets the Set card. As Chain 2, he activates Atlantean Heavy Infantry, targeting Red-Eyes Darkness Metal Dragon. As Chain 3, he activates Mermail Abyssmegalo to add an Abyss- Spell/Trap from his deck to the hand. Player B cannot activate Stardust Dragon because Mermail Abyssmegalo does not destroy cards.

1.) Is this correct?

2.) Does Player B have the option to activate Stardust Dragon as Chain 3 before Player A can activate Mermail Abyssmegalo to add an Abyss- Spell/Trap?

3.) Can Player B activate Stardust Dragon as Chain 4 to negate Player A Atlantean monster's effects or is it impossible since Abyssmegalo doesn't destroy cards?

Please help.

Actually, the discarded monsters will activate on a separate chain from Megalo, So Megalo searches first. Stardust cannot be used at that time. Then it's time for the discarded monsters' effects. Remember how Chains work. After you activate an effect, the opponent has the option to activate an effect in response, so Stardust can be used to negate either Marksman or Infantry. You cannot just add as many links to the Chain as you wish disregarding the opponent. DexxIsBack (talkcontribs) 08:58, June 3, 2013 (UTC)

According to this: http://yugioh.wikia.com/wiki/Forum:Atlanteans_and_Mermail_Abyssmegalo

the discarded monster will not form a separate chain, but Megalo can add on to the discarded monsters' chain as Chain 3. Can my opponent activate Stardust as Chain 3 before Megalo?

You're right. Since Megalo is Chain Link 3, your opponent cannot chain Stardust Dragon at this time, since Megalo doesn't destroy any cards. He cannot activate Stardust in response to the Atlanteans since you have priority, according to SEGOC, so everything you said is correct. The Atlanteans don't resolve in a separate Chain. 89.35.217.135 (talk) 17:19, June 3, 2013 (UTC)
