Forum:Cloudian Deck 2010

I've decided to make a cloudian deck because to me, that's one of the most fun decks ever made.

For Cloudians, I suggest you choose one strategy; burn or mass Fog Counters w/Nimbusman or dont play any cards for 15 turns. Choosing both at the same time will reduce the deck's overall effectiveness. Either way, you will need:

x3 Cirrostratus and Acid Cloud - they are essential destruction for Cloudians

either Smoke Balls/Turbulence or Sheep Clouds (I would suggest Sheep Clouds here) - both is overkill

Sanctuary and Spirit Barrier - you already got Sanctuary's, so you need at least 1 Spirit Barrier's for more protection

Diamond Dust Cyclone seems awsome, but it only works if a monster has at least 4 counters - and that's not easy. I suggest 1 DD Cyclone and 2 Lucky Cloud's. They are surprisingly easy to activate with Summon Cloud/Sheep Cloud/Turbulence&Smoke Ball/Storm Dragon and you get 2 cards instead of the usual 1 from DD Cyclone (you rarely ever get more than 8 or so counters)

All in all, the cloudian monsters provide spell/trap/monster destruction, swarming capabilities, battle protection, fog counter generating, hand discarding, and some burn; so take advantage of this instead of filling your deck with other cards that do the same thing (Heavy Storm, MST, Lightning Vortex, etc.). Cloudians, in my opinion, are most fun to play with when you're using creative strategies that best utilize each's strengths. Have fun!74.177.138.83 22:35, January 17, 2010 (UTC)

ok, i added and took out a few cards, but i cant seem to keep it at 40 cards. what should i take out?

Monsters: 21

x3 Cloudian - Acid Cloud

x3 Cloudian - Cirrostratus

x1 Cloudian - Eye of the Typhoon

x1 Cloudian - Ghost Fog

x3 Cloudian - Nimbusman

x1 Cloudian - Poison Cloud

x3 Cloudian - Sheep Cloud

x2 Cloudian - Storm Dragon

x3 Mother Grizzly

Spells: 15

x3 "Cloudian Squall"

x1 "Diamond-Dust Cyclone"

x1 "Fog Control"

x1 "Heavy Storm"

x1 "Lightning Vortex"

x1 "Moray of Greed"

x1 "Mystical Space Typhoon"

x2 "Salvage"

x2 "Sanctuary in the Sky"

x2 "Summon Cloud"

Traps: 7

x2 "Limit Reverse"

x1 "Raging Cloudian"

x1 "Spirit Barrier"

x3 "Threatening Roar"

Take out Heavy Storm, Lightning Vortex, both Limit Reverses, and Poison Cloud. Then, add Moray of Greed and Call of the Haunted for 40. This deck is definitely a mass fog counter deck, so go with it.74.177.157.146 20:53, January 18, 2010 (UTC)

Thanks. I was thinking about putting in a vahala, hall of the fallen and taking out a summon cloud. is this a good idea?

As long as you're running pure cloudians (which you are), then definitely no. Summon Cloud may only work for cloudians, but it has Valhalla's effect and a revival effect. Only think about using Valhalla if you're making a hybrid cloudian/fairy deck. Even if you wanted to use something other than Summon Cloud for some reason, Water Hazard would be better than Valhalla because it works for all water monsters, allowing you to use it with Poison Cloud, who won't work with Valhalla because he is a fiend. Still, Summon Cloud is hands down the best for this deck.74.177.157.65 01:49, January 20, 2010 (UTC)

Why not put in a Machine Emperor Wisel Infinity? Summoning it is as easy as switching a Cloudian to Defense Position and letting it selfdestruct. I'm working on a similar deck, and I found that the Machine Emperors will in theory give them a great boost. PHASE (talkcontribs) 15:08, September 7, 2010 (UTC)

Oh, and Heavy Storm is banned now. PHASE (talkcontribs) 15:09, September 7, 2010 (UTC)

Contribu-tin'

Since you must remove "Heavy Storm," you should take "Threatening Roar" out and replace it with two more "Spirit Barriers." I also heartily recommend running more Fogmen.
