Forum:Crystal Beast questions

There are only 7 different type of Crystal Beasts in the Archetype. To use Rainbow Dragon, you have to have the combination of the 7 different types in your gy or on the field. My question is how many copies of each should you put in. It would be obvious if you were just going on Crystal Beasts, you would put 3 of each in. But what my girlfriend and I are trying to do, is build a deck with some of those in, but focusing on Fairies as well. This will be the first deck my girl has ever built and it was her idea. I want her to succeed with it because she doesn't want to have her butt handed to her in a duel. And I don't want to scare her away from building a deck. She loves the game, and I want her to keep loving it. She has never made a deck before, so I am handing her the keys to this one. I am sure I will refer back to this forum for advice.

  • If you want to focus on Rainbow Dragon (which I don't recommend), the minimum amount of CBs you must use is the following:
3x Crystal Beast Sapphire Pegasus
2x Crystal Beast Ruby Carbuncle
1x of every other Crystal Beast (5x Other CBs)
 ?x Rainbow Dragon
3x Crystal Beacon
2x Crystal Promise
1x Crystal Release
2x Ancient City - Rainbow Ruins
1x Crystal Abundance
1x Giant Trunade
  • That's 20+(Number of Rainbow Dragons you run) cards, divided into 10+(Number of Rainbow Dragons you run) monsters and 10 Spells. This is a completely minimal build, removing something from it will most likely make the deck unplayable. Also, if one of the CBs gets RFG you won't be able to Special Summon the Dragon, unless if the monster RFG was a Pegasus or a Carbuncle. You can also add Rainbow's Gravity and/or Rainbow Path for added support. In general, though, personal experience has shown me that Crystal Beasts don't take kindly to being hybridized, and such a deck will not run smoothly. But if you want to make one, I won't stop you. --Darth Covah (Talk)●(Contribs) 21:41, 24 January 2009 (UTC)

Well if you do not want to have a CB with Rainbow Dragon, you could always replace it with Hamon, Lord of Striking Thunder. He is quite easy to special summon beacause when your CB is destroyed in the monster zone you could send it the the S/T and Hamon, Lord of Striking Thunder requires sending 3 face-up continuous spell cards other wise if you have a Rainbow Dragon and want to summon it as fast as possible, have at least 2x of all CB monsters. Crystal Beast Sapphire Pegasus, Rare Value, and Crystal Beacon speed up the process of summoning Rainbow Dragon. Ancient City - Rainbow Ruins is a good defense for crystal beasts because they have don't emphasize strong attack monsters(Make sure to add this in). Also try to minimize the deck into about 40 - 45 cards. I run a crystal beast deck so add in cards that go well with CB (Magna-Slash Dragon, Gravi-Crush Dragon, and Dweller in the Depths.) Good luck with the deck building :D

CB Answers

Idk the headline comes after the text on my account. Its retarded

Okay how about this idea

She wants to run CB and Fairies, The cards I have that are either Fairies or CB plus Support Cards are as follows:

These are the cards that I have for Support, and Fairies as well as CB's, she really wants to make a deck this way, could we instead focus it on other cards instead of Rainbow Dragon. I will be getting at least one Crystal Beast Sapphire Pegasus on Monday, which is tomorrow for me. Questions or Comments are greatly appreciated. It sounds like building a deck around Rainbow Dragon is not a good idea. Darth Covah, I assume you mean multiple copies of the CB's when you are talking Hybridized.

Crystal Beast And Fairies

By Hybridizing I assume he meant mixing them with non Crystal Beasts.

This really doesn't seem like a good idea, but I've never been one to shun bad ideas. They usually turn out pretty well.

All I can think of is a Fairy/Crystal Beast swarm deck, in which you use the card's effects to swarm the field with powered up cards. Don't rely on just support cards for archetypes, you'd be amazed at the damage you can do with cards that are pretty generic. (Like Damage Condenser or Shadow Spell)

But otherwise, I've seen some pretty powerful Rainbow Dragon decks, so I don't see how Rainbow Dragon would be a bad idea. If I can get the list of the Rainbow Dragon Deck my friend has, I'll be sure to post it on here :) Katsuma-San 18:03, 25 January 2009 (UTC)

Maybe that is why

My Crystal Beast Deck, didn't work so well. Also, maybe why my Justice Twins Deck, that combines Elemental Heroes with Gemini Monsters doesn't do as well as I thought it would when I built them. I have managed to win some duels, but I lose more then I win with those types of decks. I just thought, that I had to many cards in them. Oh well, maybe I should go back to the drawing board.

Crystal Beast

I've run CB's for a long time and in my opinion they do not breed well with much. The only thing i could see them breed with is synchros and that wouldnt be that hard to pull off. however the only advice i have for this deck if you plan to run fairies with it is to run all the counter trap fairies, then get a hold of counter traps such as solemn judgement, dark bribe, dark horn of heaven, horn of heaven, etc.

However, if you're thinking about turning it in to a straight cb deck let me know and i can send you my two recipies for them (one with rainbow dragon, the other with hamon). they are both similar but have distinct differences that can work out very well.

I hope this can help you out! Sdhagfors 16:16, 15 February 2009 (UTC)

We have decided

Yes, we have decided to run them straight, if you could send me those recipies that would be great. Send them both to me, my email is [email protected] I don't have Hamon, but we are going to attempt to focus them on Rainbow Dragon. Thanks again
