Forum:Deck Contest 45: Chaos Unison

From Yugipedia
Jump to: navigation, search

The last time we looked at NUMH, we explored its new archetypes and Numbers. Now, we look at the second half of the pack's content - the CXyz monsters, with some extras thrown in.

CXyz and Number C monsters have this common quirk of requiring their controllers to Rank-Up their original forms using any of the Rank-Up-Magic cards. They can still be Summoned the hard way, but it also won't grant access to all of their abilities.

  • All OCG and TCG cards are fine, as long as it has been released proper.

Comments? Questions? Complaints?

There are more Chaos Xyz cards than what you listed, why did you only list thous ones? --I may not be perfect, but thats who I am. (talkcontribs) 11:51, September 24, 2013 (UTC)

I mainly focused on the CXyz introduced in Number Hunters, and then threw in a few Number C monsters which I think would make for an interesting Deck to build around. I'm open to suggestions, so if there's a C monster you'd like to see, just let me know and I'll put that in. --Gadjiltron (talkcontribs) 12:51, September 24, 2013 (UTC)
Oh, any Chaos Utopias are immediately ruled out. Incredibly convenient to base a Deck around them, what with the ZW monsters circulating. --Gadjiltron (talkcontribs) 12:53, September 24, 2013 (UTC)

CXyz Comics Hero Legend Arthur

This deck attempts to first of all, weather through the opponent's attacks, then reduce the amount of monsters on their field by using them as tributes for Lava Golem or Volcanic Queen and finally uses the effect of Arthur to inflict 3000 points of damage.

For this to work out, I've included a few copies of Messenger of Peace, which should stop most of the LP from being easy prey and allows for the key cards to enter the hand (that is, RUM, Monsters of your choice and perhaps a MST if the opponent has been busy in the back-row). To increase the likeliness of them appearing, I also have Duality and Gold Sarcophagus (Duality is kept to a minimum as it doesn't let Arthur and Golem/VQ to come out on the same turn...something had to go to make room for the Messenger).

Now for the nitty-gritty of the monsters. Many of them are made to special summon themselves so they aren't affected by the effects of Golem and Volcanic Queen, hence why I have Thrasher and Trouble - they go very well together. If a single turn summon is not possible, there are plenty of alternatives. Goblindbergh, Double Lance, BM Butterspy and Gagaga Gardna all contribute to this (I've also included Rahz to search for any of them).

The rest of the spells and traps are for when Messenger does not appear in time (that is, Dark Hole if I'm at risk of being overwhelmed and Dimensional Prison, CED or Breakthrough Skill for handling a persistent boss monster).

Finally, in the extra deck, I have a slurry of different Warrior XYZs, (most of the monsters in this deck only have the ability to Special Summon Warriors) as well as a few defensive measures like Maestroke and Gunman. For the most part, this is composed of King Arthur and his Purple Rocky Counterpart, but the Heroic XYZs are also included (Kusanagi for an early offensive, Excalibur for a late one and Gandiva for a little supression - come to think of it, the names seem to come from different cultures...) as well as Lavalval Chain for searching. Number C96: Dark Storm

Yes, this is complete and utter Rank 2 spam. "Caligo Claw Crow" is awesome in that only 5 out of 22 monsters in the Main Deck are not DARK. "Cherry Inmato", "Giant Germ" and "Nimble Momonga" are obvious spam recruiters. The "Malicevorous" monsters are awesome, except for "Spoon", which has always served as the equivalent of a "Malicevorous" Normal Monster for me. Maybe drop the "Malicevorous" entirely and go for a "Apprentice Magician" engine with "Old Vindictive Magician", hmm (good, since they're DARK). "Speed Bird" is super-secret-special-awesome tech as a new card from a Starter Deck.
"Dark Eruption" is awesome, as again, it can retrieve 17 out of 22 Main Decks monsters (not including Extra Deck). "Pot of Duplicity" becomes live after a while, and may become more valid with the "Apprentice Magician" engine (though adding 1 of each recruiter is blegh, except for "Crow"). "The Dark Door" is very usful as it prevents your opponent from killing your recruited Special Summoned monsters, while tempting them to attack int he first place. It also does nothing to hinder you, as all you need to attack with is "Number C96". (Maybe add in more copies...?)
"Bribes" and "Number Wall" serve to protect the Xyz monsters. "Xyz Reborn" revives the original "Numbers", which can be later Ranked-Up. (You can also save it until you have a RUM in your hand and a "Number" in your Graveyard.) "Xyz Reflect" is part of the protection strategy as my other super-secret-special-awesome tech card.
"Herald of Pure Light" is useful for recycling "Crows" and shuffling a copy of an early, extra recruiter in your hand back to the Deck.
Side Deck adds extra protection (if necessary) in the form of "Forbidden Lances" and "Gravity Binds". "Generation Force" is because I already have 2 Main Decked "Xyz" cards, and would be useful if I sided some more in. "Light-Imprisoning Mirror" because virtually nothing in my Deck is LIGHT. "Xyz Wrath" for Decks that rely on Synchros, Chaos Dragons, and/or "Dragon Rulers". --UltimateKuriboh (talkcontribs) 16:58, October 1, 2013 (UTC)

Chromace's Comics Hero Deck

UltimateKuriboh's Dark Storm Deck

Winner

Since Gadjil's forgotten about this, I declare UltimateKuriboh to be the winner. However, both decks were well built and tried to use the power of "C" to its full extent. --Dark Ace SP (Talk) 03:38, October 4, 2013 (UTC)

Beat me to the punch, DASP. I haven't forgotten. --Gadjiltron (talkcontribs) 03:40, October 4, 2013 (UTC)
