Forum:Disaster Dragon (again...)

ok so this is my disaster dragon deck. i started it 2-3 weeks ago as a more fusion oriented version (using King Dragun, BEUD and Dragon's Mirror), but since i had to use either non-dragons (Lord of D., Hex-Sealed Fusion) or bad ones (Divine Dragon Ragnarok) i decided to drop them. i barely got them on the field anyway.

recently I'm trying to integrate synchro-summoning, since it gives you alot more options, and also revivable dragons. (but i dont think that i did it very well :/ )

anyway, here are some things i thought about, but aint sure yet.

Add

Solidarity, you might think that an 800atk boost aint that necessary in a dragon deck, but when testing against my infernity deck i noticed huge issues when facing Infernity Doom Dragon, since it destroys anything by battle besides BEWD and Exploder Dragon.

Stamping Destruction, a non-quickpaly version of MST, it's main use would be to destroy cards like Necrovalley or Macro Cosmos, basically continouus cards that shut down the deck.(a friend of mine runs a gravekeeper deck an d i HATE it -.-)

Remove

Totem Dragon, i mainly took it in to summon Light and Darkness Dragon/Yamata Dragon, which i tok out again after a while.(most of the time when i got yamata out i either fisnished the opponent right away or had 4-5 cards in my hand) I can still use it though to get out a BEWD or REDMD, but i wonder whether its really necessary right now.

i also thought about removing The White Stone of Legend,Blue-Eyes White Dragon and Trade-In stuff, because if i add another lvl 3- tuner I could play Cards of Consonance instead, which would makes SoL's main purpose, to search a BEWD for trade-in obsolete. (i ran both CoC and Trade-In for a while, but i think its too much.)

Looking forward to your feedback :) Nightleaf (talkcontribs) 11:20, October 30, 2010 (UTC)

You don't need Solidarity if you use dragons. And you don't need Infernity Doom Dragon as a beatstick anyway, when you can just kill stuff with its effect. I'd add Stamping Destruction though. Personally I'd keep Totem Dragon, and take out all the Blue-Eyes stuff. I mean comeone these days I see so many people use BEUD in a disaster dragon deck, and I have to ask, why? Just stick with the good old F.G.D. Its got slightly more attack, and will give you less dead draws, and is harder to kill. Common sense really. Also I strongly suggest adding White Night Dragon and Armed Dragon LV5. IPlay4Fun (talkcontribs) 10:51, October 31, 2010 (UTC)

Horus the Black Flame Dragon LV6, although a little on the weak side, could be a particularly problematic monster for your opponent, due to it being unaffected by spells and you blocking all traps. Horus the Black Flame Dragon LV8 may or may not be worth adding in if you do add Horus LV6. Although it doesn't always reach full strength, White-Horned Dragon can potentially beat just about any monster you could expect it to face in battle. I wouldn't run more than 1, though. Regardless of whether you keep SoL, I would recommend some tuners, preferably the Dragon tuners, particularly Dread Dragon and maybe Magna Drago. They may not quite fit in with the standard use of Darkness Metal to swarm high power monsters to attack with, but they do provide alternatives, not to mention that a decent number of the better synchros are Dragons. Although not listed, I assume you have an F. G. D. for Future Fusion. Regardless of whether you can get another, I would recommend getting a Dragon's Mirror as an easy way to get it out in a hurry. ok,I removed, SoL, BEWD and Trade-In, and added 2 Dread Dragon. using both Delta Flyer and dread dragon i can synchro using any monster i run, and both can easily be searched via masked/dread dragon.

i will probably not add armed dragon, as I always try to have some dragons in my hand for genesis/prime material dragon or to use when Im in a pinch. I'll give White Night Dragon a shot though, its definitely more useful than BEWD.

you do have a point with Horus the Black Flame Dragon LV6. i actually ran it in the earlier versions of the deck, but my major intention was to get out the lvl8 one. as i barely managed it i took both out, infact i never thought about running only horus lvl6.

Ill think about adding White-Horned Dragon, but having 2 more searchers for Exploder Dragon, and a (hopefully) reliable access to synchros, my problems with big monsters might be gone. further testing is needed here i guess.

so...quick summary: -2 SoL -3 BEWD -3 Trade-In +2 White Night Dragon +2 Horus lvl6 +2 Dread Dragon

2 slots remain which I'll use to test some cards (e.g Dragon's Mirror and White-Horned Dragon)
