Forum:Dragon Swarm Deck~~ Please Comment

This started out with me thinking of ways to use two of the more overlooked cards in Hidden Arsenal, Flamvell Guard and Flamvell Dragnov, and it turned into using quite a few of the more overlooked dragon monsters. So, without further stalling for time, I give you the Flash Fire Dragon Deck.

This deck is made to swarm and defeat the opposition with annoying tactics strategies rather than the brute force that so many have come to expect from dragons. However, it can still beat down with support from spells.

Monsters: First of all, there's Flamvell Guard and Dragnov. Guard has it's amazing defense for a level one, and it's a tuner. Dragnov has decent stats for it's level and a nice effect that can give my opponent a nasty surprise. With the many monster stealing tactics and DNA Transplant, I can potentially search another Dragnov and remove one of my opponent's monsters from play. I don't NEED to rely on this method, though, as most of the dragons in tha deck are fire. Masked Dragon comes next, due to the fact that it can serch out over half of my monsters. Troop Dragon can add to the swarming/stalling. Magna Drago is a good dragon-type tuner and it can give some much-needed power to the deck with either more synchro power or it's effect. Lava Dragon helps with swarming and the Horus series is there for more power. Extra deck is nothing special.

Spells: Shrink is obvious as there are only three monsters in the deck with over 2000 ATK. Pot of Avarice seems like good draw power as I can fill the graveyard fast and the monsters returned to the deck can just as easily be searched out again. Next up, Burden of the Mighty and Solidarity can weaken opposing monsters and strengthen my own, respectevly, while Enemy Controller, Brain Control and Mind Control can let me synchro with my opponent's monsters or remove them for Dragnov's effect. MST and Stamping Destruction are staple s/t destruction for this deck, One for One can search Flamvell Guard, and D.D.R. can get back something that was removed for Dragnov's effect.

Traps: DNA Transplant has the potential to be pretty amazing with my a stolen monster on my field and a Dragnov in the grave. Call of the Haunted is a staple, and Magic Drain will get rid of one of my opponent's spell cards somehow, and at no cost.

Tell me what you think and any help is welcome. Decoy Dragon Lord 00:42, December 11, 2009 (UTC)

I like the way you made use of Flamvell Dragnov combined with DNA Transplant. Other than that, this looks like the format I use when I post my decks, with the "~~ Please Comment" at the end. Just a fun observation, and I can't wait to see how the deck works out! (NOTE: I'm not very good at Dragon decks, so I can't offer much advice)--Akiza Izayoi 14:40, December 11, 2009 (UTC)

Glad you like it. Anyway, I just tested this deck against one of my friends and it works. Very well, too! It works just like a gadget deck...if gadgets were...you know...dragons. Something that suprised me, though, was that Horus LV8 never even made an apperance. I don't know if that means I should take it out and I'm even less sure about what I would put in its place if I do. If anyone can think of some dragons that would work well with this deck or can somehow generate card advantage, please let me know. Other than that, I've been thinking of taking out Mind Control and putting in a single Creature Swap. Let me know what you think.

Also Akiza, I posted this deck right after looking at one of your decks and I will admit that I barrowed that part of the title. Decoy Dragon Lord 22:11, December 11, 2009 (UTC)

It's all right if you borrowed that part of the title, it's just that I use that part to easily find my own decks on the forum and I clicked on this deck thinking it was mine -_-. Anyway, that does indeed mean that Horus goes bye-bye. And max out on DNA Transplant. Why? It can F*ck with Honest.--Akiza Izayoi 00:00, December 12, 2009 (UTC)

I'll see if I can get two more DNA Transplants. I could remove Call, since I want dragons in the grave for some card effects, plus Lava Dragon is kind of like a Monster Reborn in this deck, but what about the other one? Also, any ideas on replacements for the Horus series? All I can think of is another Magna Drago... Decoy Dragon Lord 00:17, December 12, 2009 (UTC)

You do know that Lava Dragon's effect only works while it's in DEF position? Runer5h 00:20, December 12, 2009 (UTC)Runer5h

Yeah, I know, but in my experiences, at least, it's usually able to survive long enough for me to use it's effect. Belive it or not, but Lava Dragon is one of the stronger monsters in the deck. Decoy Dragon Lord 00:59, December 12, 2009 (UTC)

Maybe add a Graceful Revival, to bring back things for Synchros?--Akiza Izayoi 01:02, December 12, 2009 (UTC)
