Forum:Earthbound Immortals vs Swallow's Nest etc.

Ok, recently somebody put in a section on the "Earthbound Immortals" page stating that an "Earthbound Immortal" (eg. "Earthbound Immortal Aslla piscu") could NOT summoned with the effect of "Swallow's Nest" if you offered a face-up "Earthbound Immortal" (eg. "Earthbound Immortal Wiraqocha Rasca") you controlled as a tribute for the cost of "Swallow's Nest" (as there cannot be two face-up "Earthbound Immortals" on the field at any given time), or returning it to the hand with "Beast Soul Swap" (eg. with "Earthbound Immortal Cusillu"). It seems to me that at least the "Swallow's Nest" play would be completely legal as you tribute the "Earthbound Immortal" as a cost, therefore it leaves the field before the next one is even selected as the card of choice to summon. Please can somebody confirm this ruling, as it complete wrecks a deck I was working on. Well, a theory deck, so no money wasted... Yet... Over and Out --EndOfTheWorld (Its the EndOfTheWorld! You cannot activate Swallow's Nest if you have an Aslla piscu on the field; unless you have another Level 10 Winged Beast in your Deck. However, Blackwing - Aurora the Northern Lights and Ulevo (The only other non EBI Level 10 Winged Beast) cannot be Special Summoned, so they don't count. If there were to be a legal Level 10 Winged Beast in your deck, you can activate it, tribute Aslla piscu and summon another Aslla piscu.
The Beast Soul Swap combo should have an Andro Sphinx or Sphinx Teleia in your hand. -Falzar FZ- (talk page|useful stuff) 22:33, December 21, 2010 (UTC)

Ummm... Konami replied an email saying that this combo does work, I agree by logic that you cannot activate Swallow's Nest, however, I'm not sure why Konami says this play is legal. — This unsigned comment was made by KeytheTarget (talkcontribs)

If the combo works, then the term there would be legal.
If it doesn't work, then it is illegal.
I'm not sure why you decided to change your post, but now it's inconsistent. -Falzar FZ- (talk page|useful stuff)

Quick check. I suppose you can do it, in the TCG for now at least, but only because it's BKSS. I'd expect another rulings reversal later though. -Falzar FZ- (talk page|useful stuff) 06:15, January 11, 2011 (UTC)

Oh, sorry about that, I guess my mind was kind of blur when I re-read it. --KeytheTarget (talkcontribs) 08:27, January 11, 2011 (UTC)

For the record:

In the OCG (per above reasoning, and then checked per WC11), you cannot Swallow's Nest an Aslla Piscu for another Aslla Piscu. IF you Hero Mask the Aslla Piscu on the field, then, and only then, can you Swallow's Nest an Aslla Piscu for another Aslla Piscu.
In the TCG, you can regardless of the situation, due to that BKSS ruling. Though, I'd expect it to be reversed eventually. -Falzar FZ- (talk page|useful stuff) 00:21, March 9, 2011 (UTC)
