If you chained these two cards together, will you also be able to do damage and still gain life points? or would missing the timing on it happen? XenonZephyr 03:26, April 1, 2010 (UTC)
just bild a chain and answer the question yourself ;)
- 1) damage inflicting effect
- 2) Energy-Absorbing Monolith
- 3) Nature's Reflection
resolve
- 3) Nature's Reflection will change the opponents effect to "inflict damage to your (the opponents) life points"
- 2) Energy-Absorbing Monolith would resolve without effect. Look at the cards text: "you gain Life Points equal to the amount you would have taken." You would have taken no damage due to nature's reflection so you can't gain life points.

- During the damage inflicting effect's resolution, both Energy-Absorbing Monolith and Nature's Reflection are trying to apply their effects. Since Energy-Absorbing Monolith has resolved last, it will apply its effect and the OP will gain Life Points equal to the damage that he would have taken from the damage inflicting effect. why not Nature's Reflection? Its effect is applied through the entire turn, so I thought it would be applied. And if it's applied there wouldn't be any damage... -dest- 00:27, April 2, 2010 (UTC)
- Those are not contradictory effects like Bad Reaction to Simochi and Final Attack Orders! Those are effect that are trying to be applied to the same action. By the way only 1 effect will be applied. In those cases it has been ruled that the most recently resolved effect takes precedence and since Energy-Absorbing Monolith had resolved last its effect will be applied.
