Hey folks.

Just wanted to make you aware that we have commenced with some testing of a streamlined mobile version of our card pages. Simply point your mobile device at Mirror Force (http:yugioh.wikia.com/Mirror_Force), and you'll see a more condensed, less bandwidth-hungry webpage loaded.

Thoughts, opinions, and feedback are welcome.--TwoTailedFox (My Talk Page) 01:52, June 17, 2012 (UTC)

Interesting work, Founder... --iFredCat 01:59, June 17, 2012 (UTC)
Looks much better from the previous version. ^_^ A few suggestions, unless you are working on a way to pull up the page with the language of the countries IP that accessed it, which would be really cool, you could probably get rid of the Card Name category and the cards Name printed above that. The article already states the card name at the top of the page, so right now you have the name Mirror Force on the page three times in a row. Also when I checked it out on my phone there was about a four line long gap at the top beneath the article page title and the top of the article. I tried touching it just to see what happened and it randomly clicked links down in the article. I'm not sure if that's something you have control over but just noting it. The last thing would be the removing the fact box at the bottom, just because its simply restating all the information up above. Sorry if this was rude or abrasive. Name at top removed, I'll have at look at the phantom lines at the top later, I 'think' I know what's causing it. Factbox has be removed globally, but it's not critical due to the Browse Properties page doing the same thing, so happy to remove it for both desktop and mobile users.--TwoTailedFox (My Talk Page) 12:46, June 17, 2012 (UTC)
Users without a mobile device can still preview this change, via http://yugioh.wikia.com/wiki/Mirror_Force?useskin=wikiamobile.
Some thoughts from me:
  • We do sometimes need to display the card's English name, since it isn't always identical to the page name (the most grievous offenders here would be cards with an octothorpe (#) or a disambiguating term (e.g. "(card)") in their name). We could simply set it up so the English name is not shown unless it differs from the page name.
  • Was leaving the row for the banner name intentional when the name display itself was removed? While it leads to an interesting visual effect when viewed on one of the desktop skins, it doesn't do anything for the mobile skin (though that can be addressed via some global CSS).
  • Speaking of styling, do we want basically the same styles for the mobile skin that we have for the desktop skins? Currently, mobile browsers get an unstyled table that I've never been fond of.
  • Lastly, I'm hoping to eventually be able to roll all of this into the current {{CardTable2}} (the mobile functionality is currently being handled in a standalone {{CardTableM}} template), which would reduce maintenance concerns and allow automatic rollout to all of our card pages. ディノ千?!? · ☎ Dinoguy1000 13:27, June 17, 2012 (UTC)
I tried incorporating the changes into CT2, but the markup wasn't having it. Breaks everywhere, even on minor changes. And yes, I agree Card Name can be included only with an If statement, asking it to only display if we enter a name value. The removal of the name banner was intentional insofar as a testing to change, it can always be reverted. As for the CSS, it's open to tinkering, so if you have changes, please go ahead.--TwoTailedFox (My Talk Page) 14:47, June 17, 2012 (UTC)
Yeah, I saw your edits on CardTable2 trying to incorporate this; I'll have to tinker with it and see if I can't figure out how to get all the markup to play nicely. =) ディノ千?!? · ☎ Dinoguy1000 06:31, June 18, 2012 (UTC)
