What brand/type of sleeves do you like and what's so special about smooth sleeves? Roge23 19:01, 23 September 2008 (UTC)

i used red sleeves, but that was for my OLD OLD OLD deck from about 3 years ago, which i lost more than half of..., but now im using teal sleeves since its my favorite color lol Freezydragon 01:11, 24 September 2008 (UTC)

sleeve favorites

I use white for my Agent/Parshath beatdown =D, I use blue for my warrior toolbox... --Tantara 01:16, 24 September 2008 (UTC)

I like Satin sleeves the most since it makes the deck look small and sleek. Colors don't matter too much to me, though if I had to choose I would go with black satin sleeves. Animedude3000 03:35, 24 September 2008 (UTC)

I went for the silver 5D's sleeves because all the other Yugioh Theme Sleeves don't really fit well with my deck type at that moment. With the Crystal Beast Deck in place, I feel like fitting it with Rainbow Dragon/Johan Anderson sleeves. Heh. --Gadjiltron 10:52, 24 September 2008 (UTC)

The brand that I buy is Saf-T-Gard, and I buy them off of eBay. The satin (smooth) sleeves that they buy are very nice and shiny...they have a really nice look to them. The metallic (rough textured) sleeves are ok. Most people I know buy the Ultra-Pro ones that you can get in a regular card shop, and while these are really nice I don't like lack of variety in colors that they offer. -- Sub 21:15, 26 September 2008 (UTC)

Gotta love the slipperyness of Ultra-Pro sleeves Roge23 04:09, 27 September 2008 (UTC)

I personally prefer the KMC matt sleeves. Don't like slippery ones much. --Pizzaman 09:17, 1 October 2008 (UTC)
  • I've been thinking of buying some KMC sleeves since my current sleeves are wearing out, could you possibly tell me some of the differences between Ultra Pro versus KMC? Is it textured? and if it is not as slippery, is it still relatively easy to shuffle with? Thanks JTNVinh 05:45, 12 October 2008 (UTC)

I just tried a new set of sleeves called Player's Choice. It says something about Japanese quality sleeves on there, and they feel GREAT. They are smooth, non-reflective, and have a very nice feel to them. I grabbed a pack when I was at Shonen Jump Charlotte yesterday. 60 sleeves come in one pack, and they were 2 packs for $9. They also come in many different colors, so there is pretty much some color for everybody. -- Sub 19:30, 19 October 2008 (UTC)

well right now im thinking of getting new sleeves with an ice dragon on the back, but for now i switched it up with dark blue Freezydragon 03:56, 20 October 2008 (UTC)

Does anybody have experence with the Konami sleeves? (i.e. the Japanese Stardust Dragon sleeves etc.) Roge23 04:48, 30 October 2008 (UTC)

  • Those are pretty cool sleeves, but I think that they are banned in the larger TCG tournaments (SJC, Regionals, etc.) because they are too reflective. You should double check about these sleeves because you don't want to plop down money for something that you may not be able to show off at premier events. -- Sub 16:47, 30 October 2008 (UTC)

These are the ones Roge23 02:13, 31 October 2008 (UTC)

I was told that sleeves that have pictures on them are not tournament legal. So you can uses those kinds of sleeves against friends at home, but not in any sanctioned tournament or tournament following official UDE policies. Though those sleeves look freaking awesome. :D Animedude3000 03:54, 31 October 2008 (UTC)

i personally love the ultra pro textured sleeves because they don't shine or become slippery so there's no distraction or having to pick up your deck after drawing a card. most of all since they're textured they don't stick together like the ones i had in the past. plus they're always tourney legal and cheaply priced. i don't have a problem with the color choice cuz i figure as long as they protect the cards then they do their job perfectly. if i can't have ultra-pro then i'll only go with dragon shield or nothing else. i'm picky when it comes to quality.--kirogashi 09:15, 19 November 2008 (UTC)

Why aren't those Black Rose sleeves tourney legal? They look fine to me and aren't THAT distracting, nor have I heard any reports that they are reflective. What makes it worse is that they have sleeves of the same kind, but with a Stardust design. What's the deal here?

I heard that the sleeves w/ pix on them like the Stardust and Black Rose are tourney legal! I just recently went to Regionals and I saw someone using the same type of sleeves, but they had a picture of Honest on them! I asked the judge if the sleeves were illegal, but he said no! SWEET!

I get whatever is the cheapest where I happen to be. Right now I only have about 45 White Sleeves, I'm going to buy some red or yellow for Gladiator Beasts that I'm making. Lysithix 15:38, 12 December 2008 (UTC)

Check These Out!

  • Alright, you remember that I said that those Konami Sleeves that had Honest, Stardust, & Black rose were legal on a Regional & Shonen Jump Tournament Level? Well, I decided to order some Yusei Fudo sleeves for my Junk Deck. Here they are!
