Forum:February 2014 Banlist Predictions (OCG)

Not sure if anyone still cares about what's happening in the OCG, but there's about another month until their banlist will be posted up on Shriek OCG news. Anyways, here's what I think Konami should do in February for the OCG:

Banned:

  • Elemental HERO Stratos - This is one thing I liked about the TCG list, and the OCG should probably do this too.
  • Number 16: Shock Master - This wasn't a bad choice for the TCG, and the OCG should probably ban this card too.
  • Card Destruction - Same as above.
  • Gateway of the Six - Same as above.
  • Heavy Storm - Same with the TCG, drag down the generic traps if they ban this.
  • Monster Reborn - Not much needs to be said about this.
  • Return from the Different Dimension - A win-button.
  • Self-Destruct Button - This seemed like a random hit by TCG Konami, but it makes sense when you look at it with some thought.
  • Solemn Judgment - IF they ban Heavy, yes.
  • Ultimate Offering - Same as Return.

Limited:

  • Atlantean Dragoons - A hit to Mermails.
  • Blaster, Redox, Tempest, and Tidal - At least these hits to Rulers, like the TCG did, if not banned.
  • Something weak from the forbidden list? (Magician of Faith like the TCG did, ect)
  • Rescue Rabbit - A hit to rabbit-based decks.
  • Wind-Up Magician - Switch it with Shark again; Wind-Ups were fine the way they were.
  • Generic backrow (Macro, Fissure, Soul Drain, Compuls, Bottomless, Torrential, ect) - If they ban Heavy, these should get hit too.
  • Dragon Ravine - I think this should go to 1, banning it in the TCG was Dragunity overkill.
  • Final Countdown - Another hit to troll decks.
  • Rekindling - If not this at least semi-d, but it's irritating as to how this card always seems to avoid the banlist.

Semi-Limited:

  • T.G. Striker - If not unlimited, T.G. Agents aren't a thing anymore.
  • Mezuki - Same as T.G. Striker, but for Zombies.
  • Plaguespreader Zombie - See Mezuki.
  • ROTA - Warrior decks won't do that much if Stratos and Gateway go.

Unlimited:

  • Destiny HERO - Malicious - If Stratos goes, this can come off.
  • Number 11: Big Eye - Most people won't run more than 1 of this anyhow, either this or ban it, I prefer this.
  • The Agent of Mystery - Earth - Go with the TCG on this, T.G. Agents aren't that good anymore.
  • Wind-Up Shark - Switched with Magician.
  • A HERO Lives - No need to keep it down if Stratos goes.
  • Black Whirlwind - Blackwings aren't that good anymore.
  • Magical Stone Excavation - No one runs it...sigh, did they just forget it was on the list?

Again, I don't think anyone still cares about what's going on in the OCG, but I really think the OCG should lean towards the TCG list in their next list February, which actually solved a lot of problems in the game. What about Reborn Tengu to 3 for only one format? It got semi'd before the OCG players can play actually it at 3 and it is an Ultra Rare. Plus OCG/TCG have different lists, won't it be a good idea to let OCG players use it at 3 for one format? It will be an economic choice for Konami (see how Rooster and Spirit were limited in OCG and TCG lists respectively?).Sui cho (talk • contribs) 11:10, January 2, 2014 (UTC)
