Forum:Future vision vs Monarchs

Lets say I have a Future Vision on the Field and a Gemini Elf. My opponent Special Summons a Cyber Dragon and then sacrifices it for Caius the Shadow Monarch and chooses to remove Future Vision. Exactly how is the chain and how does it resolve? — This unsigned comment was made by 69.230.173.239 (talkcontribs)

This is a question which I have answered before, and saved. I need to find it. Falzar FZ 07:11, March 25, 2010 (UTC)

Here we go.

Trigger Effects would form a chain with Future Visions, so you will get the effects of Monarchs. However, the order will depend on which Monarch you are using.

I'll assume that the Opponent Controls Future Visions and you (the Turn Player) is Summoning the Monarch in these Chains.

Chain Link 1) Future Visions (Opponent Mandatory Trigger)
Chain Link 2) Mobius or Kuraz (Turn Player Optional Trigger, selects Target(s))
Resolve:
Chain Link 2) Mobius or Kuraz (Destroys Cards)
Chain Link 1) Future Visions (If Mobius or Kuraz did NOT destroy this Card, then they will now be Removed. If Mobius or Kuraz did destroy this Card, then the Effect will resolve without Effect since Field Spells are considered to be Continuous and must be Face-up on the Field on Resolution in order to Resolve with an Effect.)
  • or:
Chain Link 1) Caius or Granmarg or Thestalos or Raiza or Zaborg (Turn Player Mandatory Trigger)
Chain Link 2) Future Visions (Opponent Mandatory Trigger, selects Target(s))
Resolve:
Chain Link 2) Future Visions (Removes Monster)
Chain Link 1) Caius or Granmarg or Thestalos or Raiza or Zaborg

Note: If you you removed/destroyed Future Visions in this chain, then your Monarch will not return on your next turn. It will remain removed because Future Visions is not Face-up on the Field at that time. Falzar FZ 07:18, March 25, 2010 (UTC)
