Illegal but good

The amount of Harpie Lady that you put in this deck is illegal. You should have only 3 of the same name in a card deck, unless you go to a duel free, ignoring the rules. --Pipo Destruction 22:54, 20 February 2009 (UTC)

well since harpies queens effect only works on the field and graveyard, can't i have 3 of those, and 3 harpies that have the treated as harpie lady effect?

Yes. you can preferably i like 3 harpie queens and 3 harpie lady 1's --Mudvaynex018x

harpies

The harpies that have effects that treat their names as "Harpie Lady" are considered a Harpie Lady, so you can only have 3 copies of them. example; 3 Harpie Lady, or 3 Cyber Harpie, or 3 Harpie Lady 1, or 3 Harpie Lady 2, or 3 Harpie Lady 3, or 1 Harpie Lady 1, 1 Harpie Lady 2, and 1 Harpie Lady 3, or 1 Cyber Harpie, 1 Harpie Lady 2 and 1 Harpie Lady 3, ...

about Harpie Queen, her case is different, as her effect treats her as Harpie Lady only in the field or graveyard, you can have 3 of "Harpie Queen" in your deck and 3 other Harpie Lady.

Thanks

Alright so if I ever do a tournament i'll keep that in mind, I don't think it will change that much, considering I have so many cards that bring out the harpies, and I normally bring out harpie lady 1's anyway, so if I add 2 more harpie queens and take out the harpie 2 and 3s the deck might even be better, especially with the upcoming black-wings

interesting fixes

well for a harpie deck first take out the harpie 2 and 1 other that wont work add

3-luster dragon
Simorgh, Bird of Divinity for a lesser cost to tribute
side deckStorm Shooter for a major twist

for the spells

remove ecstacy spark unless you have 2-harpies sisters

put in 2-Harpies' Hunting Ground for magic and trap control Inygmazen 19:13, 25 February 2009 (UTC)

Summery

Obiously this deck still needs some work, there is always some improvement or alteration you can make.

birdface's and kamakiri's get your harpies to your hand and the feild harpies brother and oxyeddon there for muscle and to buy some time for you to get your move sorted mostly for support, but not too important

harpie ladys and sisters are a must they are the most important in a harpie deck...duh lol the pet baby dragon gets bonus based on how may harpies you have on the feild get him out with 3 and youll have a lvl 4 dragon WIND type monster with 2400 ATK and 1200 DEF. opponent cant attack your harpies and once per turn destroy one "card" on the feild

and if you use harpie lady 1 her effect gives all WIND monsters + 300 attack so add 900 ontop of that for their effects and you'll have a 3300

the rest will follow easy as bro's and who's if anyone else has a good idea how this deck could work and with what cards post them up here

<x>

Edit: Youre probably gonna want to run Harpie Queens. It's effect only changes its name to Harpie Lady while its on the field and in the grave(keep in mind, this card is not searchable with Birdface) so you can run 3 more next to your other Harpie Ladies bringing you up to a total of 6 possible Harpies to boost your pet baby dragons effect. Its also a lvl 4, 1900 attack beatstick and you can discard it to search out your Harpie Hunting Grounds. Since they're counted as Harpie Ladies in the graveyard as well that maximizes the amount of Harpies you can pull from the grave using Hysteric Party. All around must have for Harpie decks. Took out 2 harpies brother since they do nothing to help a harpie deck and removed a Wind Effigy since there was only one monster that uses two tributes (Simorgh, Bird of Divinity).

Also, Simorgh, Bird of Divinity doesnt really do much to help the deck, so I recomend replacing it with a better Wind attribute Winged beast. Personally I think Raiza the Storm Monarch is best suited to the job. While it's effect doesnt directly help a harpie deck, being able to bounce a card back to the opponent's top of the deck can help you gain field control and give them dead draws. The Oxygeeddons x2 feels like the space can be better used on something better like x2 more Raizas. Ignoring the buffs from harpies and from hunting ground, this deck lacks stronger fire power, and one Raiza isnt going to cut it.

Also, you might want to side deck a couple "Barrier Statue of the Stormwinds" to slow down decks that special summon a lot without hindering your own hysteric party. Beware however, at 1000 attack and defense, this card is going to need protecting.

My two cents worth

Actually, I think Storm Shooter is as good if not better than Raiza the Storm Monarch. Another card to consider throwing into the mix as a substitute for Raiza would be Earthbound Immortal Aslla piscu, though it is dependent on Harpie's Hunting Ground being in place, so you'll need to keep that in mind. Support cards I like with Harpies are Chthonian Alliance, and Aqua Chorus.

Additional thought. BTW - you can also step over to my user page and take a look at the "Winds of Change" deck I'm still working on. I'm not say it's "Da BOMB," only that it might give you ideas for your own deck.

Good Luck!

another possible addition

I've run harpie decks for quite some time and have been through multiple variations. Raiza is basically the only tribute monster you should run automatically when building this besides a pet dragon since most people like putting all the theme cards in. But a card that is overlooked a lot is this years Alector, Sovereign of Birds which is a 2400Atk 2000Def wind winged beast(which means harpie's hunting ground's boost is useable). its effect is just as useful if not better than Raiza's. Alector can be special summoned from the hand if your opponent has 2 or more monsters of the same attribute on their side of the field which makes him easy to pull out in tough situations especially when the opponent is mass summoning or took over control of the field. His continuous effect allows him every turn tonegate the effect of any card on the field, magic, trap or monster, for the entire turn including effects that activate during the end phase which makes him incredible versus today's heavy synchro plays. i now run 2 raizas and 1 alector as my ace monsters and have no other tribute based monsters.

I Can Help You

You must select how Harpie Lady are the best. I like the Harpie Lady 1. She boost the ATK of all WIND Monsters you control. The Harpies 2 and 3 are good to negate effects and Attacks for your opponent monsters. If you like all of this effects, ad 1 of each Harpie. Other time, Cyber Harpie Lady have 1800 ATK Points and can be Great in a Harpie Deck. But the Deck Structure will ALWAYS include the Harpie Queen, with 1900 ATK and a search for de Field Spell Card Harpie's Hunting Ground, not Best in ATK Boost than Rising Air Corrent, but no with it's secundary effect that can eliminate indesejable cards in the field like Bottomless Trap Hole. The Deck is in your Hands.

I agree about the monsters. You could also add in Elegant Egotist for some additional swarming power, which will allow you to take advantage of the attack boost from the above monsters. Jon Kovacs (talkcontribs) 00:41, January 24, 2011 (UTC)
Looks fine, though Shrink should probably be Book of Moon due to being more flexable, and stoping syncing, Battlestorm almost never works, as I've playtested with it before, And I don't feel you fill the grave fast enough for Pot of Avarice to be an option,,, Just some thoughts-Resk (talkcontribs) 15:16, January 25, 2011 (UTC)
