Forum:How are Torunka and Mahad both Dark Magician?

So, I've never watched 5d's and just learned about the character Torunka who is stated to be the Dark Sage aged backwards. However, the Dark Sage is merely the Dark Magician after aging 1000 years, so Torunka can't be the Dark Sage because at the end of Duel Monsters we learn that Mahad is the Dark Magician who is the same person as the Dark Sage. Can someone please explain to me how this is supposed to work? FighterofLight (talkcontribs) 01:16, January 22, 2017 (UTC)

Torunka is Dark Sage. The reason why he's "aged backwards" is due to a curse put on him from the Dark Signers. Once the curse is lifted, he's returned to Dark Sgage. --MasterMarik (talkcontribs) 01:27, January 22, 2017 (UTC)

That's the problem. The Dark Sage is just an elderly Dark Magician, but Mahad is also the Dark Magician. FighterofLight (talkcontribs) 01:29, January 22, 2017 (UTC)

Mahad is the spirit of the Dark Magician from 5000 years ago. Obviously he didn't stay that way forever. --MasterMarik (talkcontribs) 01:34, January 22, 2017 (UTC)
Don't think about it too hard. It's a contradiction, sure, but we can chalk it up to writer error. Besides, 5Ds is 2 whole series after that original, I don't really see them paying much attention to that kind of detail. And frankly, it really shouldn't matter that much. If I may.

There a reason that Torunka and Mahad can't look the same when we have characters like Yugi and Atem, Kaiba and Seto and both Bakuras? Sanokal K-T (talkcontribs) 03:27, January 22, 2017 (UTC)
