Forum:Is a Venom deck still possible?

Well, I recently went to a weekly tournament at a local comic shop, running a morphtronic/powertool deck. I got crushed, and all of these people were useing gladiator beasts/XXsabers/Blackwings, a lot of the top decks. I was wondering if a Venom/Reptillianne Deck would be able to do well, at least be something different that they arn't prepared for. I have all of the reptilliannes, inculding 3 scyllas and 3 medusas and 2 gorgons and 2 gardnas. I have all venoms but venom cobra and vennominaga the deity of poisonous snakes, (which I understand will be hard to come by, which is why I want to know if this deck will work before I trade a ton of cards for it.) What other cards would you recommend, especially magic and trap.

I wouldn't recommend venoms, but Reptilians have great potential. I have a Reptilians deck and it runs very well. I also questioned the use of venoms and tried playing with them and just doesn't work well. The only venom monster you might need is Vennominon the King of Poisonous Snakes for his great strength and very useful effect. But I recomend using Evil Dragon Ananta since she is a LIFESAVER late in a game. Also you need to make sure you have Offering to the Snake Deity that realy helps speed the deck up. But overall venoms are just not going to win. --DeaththeKid

TBH, Venom is better this format than the prior, due to lack of heavy storm, so if you made use of stall cards such as Vengeful Bog Spirit & used Light of Intervention, they might not be able to waste destruction on them, however I tried a Veil of Darkness build, using said card, and lots of dark reptiles, to keep tossing monsters to the grave, then Limit Reverseing Vennominon the King of Poisonous Snakes and on destruction, Rise of the Snake Deity (though need to keep her in hand)-82.11.158.0 (talk) 09:13, September 13, 2010 (UTC)
