If my opponent were to use Lava Golem's effect to send Vanguard of the Dragon to the graveyard, would Vanguard of the Dragon's effect to special summon a normal dragon from either players' graveyard still come into effect?
Lava Golem is doing exactly what the requirements say for Vanguard of the Dragon's effect.

- Vanguard of the Dragon wasn't tributed by an "opponent's card effect" but by an "opponent's card cost", so his effect will not be activated. ATEMVEGETA (Talk) 15:54, January 27, 2010 (UTC)
