If my Deck has 40 cards(all monsters) and it includes the 5 pieces of exodia,then Magical Merchant is flipped face-up,do I just pick up cards until I win?115.135.244.86 10:33, March 16, 2010 (UTC)
- "Picking up" cards technically does not mean that the cards are in your hand. Exodia would not win.
- Also, if actually did count (which it doesn't), it still won't work since you cannot declare victory in the middle of resolving an effect. (e.g. If you have three pieces of Exodia in your hand, "Graceful Charity", and no other cards, and then you activate "Graceful Charity" and draw the final 2 pieces of Exodia, you must discard 2 cards before a victory can be declared, but after you discard you will no longer have all 5 pieces of Exodia, and cannot declare a victory.)Falzar FZ 10:39, March 16, 2010 (UTC)
But wouldn't that go against this ruling?:After resolving a Chain Link, if you have "Exodia the Forbidden One"/"Right Arm of the Forbidden One"/"Left Arm of the Forbidden One"/"Right Leg of the Forbidden One"/"Left Leg of the Forbidden One" in your hand, you immediately win the Duel. If your opponent activates "Delinquent Duo" and you chain "Backup Soldier", "Backup Soldier" will resolve first. If you have all five pieces in your hand, you will win the Duel before "Delinquent Duo" resolves.[3]

Nope, with a chain to make it clear:
- Chain Link 1: Delinquent Duo
- Chain Link 2: Backup Soldier
Resolve:
- Chain Link 2: Backup Soldier
- The effect has fully resolved, victory can be declared now.
- Chain Link 1... um... the duel ended already.
vs.
- Chain Link 1: Graceful Charity or Magical Merchant
Resolve:
- Chain Link 1: Graceful Charity (Draw and discard is 1 Effect) or Magical Merchant (Pick up and send to grave is 1 effect)
Now that the effect has fully resolved you can now declare... wait I don't have all 5 Pieces... can't declare victory -_-
