Would stardust be able to negate magical dimension. because its effect to destroy happens after the effect to tribute and special summon another spellcaster. I know ur not supposed to be able to activate cards while a chain resolves so I was just wondering. Mss0290 (talkcontribs) 13:14, September 19, 2011 (UTC)

No. Destroy is optional. Stardust cannot be used against the unsure destruction effect.-- (talkcontribs) 13:21, September 19, 2011 (UTC)

As far as I know, the destruction is an optional effect, meaning your opponent may choose NOT to destroy anything, regardless if he special summon or not. Stardust cannot negate an effect that may or may not destroy a card, therefore it cannot be used against it. Stardust would have been able to negate it if it was certain that the special summon and destruction effect was mandatory, as in the effect of Starlight Road.
