Forum:Missed Timing?

Alright so I have Pinch Hopper, Multiplication of Ants, and Earthbound Immortal Uru all in my hand. First thing I do is summon Pinch Hopper then activate Multiplication of Ants, that sends Pinch Hopper to the grave activating it's eff to summon that Uru. I can't help but think Multiplication of Ants causes Pinch Hopper to miss it's effect. Anyone agree?

Yes, you will miss the timing.-- (talkcontribs) 04:36, August 7, 2011 (UTC)

One more thing. Goblin Zombie's eff is similar. Shouldn't it also miss it's timing when it's sent as a tribute to summon something else too?

learn the difference between Optional Trigger Effects and Mandatory Trigger Effects, then read Missing the Timing... -Falzar FZ- (talk page|useful stuff) 07:52, August 7, 2011 (UTC)

Seems like both cards in question are mandatory since they don't contain the word 'can' which gives the player a choice.

Correct, my friend, if it don't have "Can", then you must do what effect told you to do so. Some effect (beside Maintenance Cost) can be negated and ignored by Skill Drain. --FredCat 14:52, August 8, 2011 (UTC)

Actually I just noticed that the hopper does have 'can' in there.

Well, Pinch Hopper's kind of effect required to be last thing to happening, like "Fortune Lady Lighty", if the last thing happened at end was different thing than it own destruction/sent to graveyard, you missing the timing. Important to check the ruling out before asking question. --FredCat 15:38, August 8, 2011 (UTC)

If I control one T.G. Hyper Librarian and later I Synchro Summon a Karakuri Shogun mdl 00 “Burei”, for example, Does it loses its timing?. Thank You. 190.75.206.204 (talk) 10:39, August 29, 2011 (UTC) J0j0.
