Forum:Monster Effects that Negate are considered what Spell Speed?

Topic question. Basically, in situations I have a Stardust Dragon or a Material Dragon, and I use their effects to negate and destroy a card, can they be chained to with a non-counter trap? Cause, I know they're multi-trigger monster effects that can be used in either turn, making them Spell Speed 2, but since they have a negating effect attached on to them, does that make them Spell Speed 3?

If they are Spell Speed 2, then how would this type of situation go?

Turn Player: Has Material Dragon and Red Eyes on the field, attacks with Red Eyes. Enemy Player: Activates Mirror Force. Turn Player: Activates Material Dragon's effect by discarding one card. Enemy Player: Chains Book of Moon onto Material Dragon.

What is the result?

Oh, and if I may, a few more questions...

If I use Red Eyes Darkness Metal Dragon's effect in priority to summon a Material Dragon, can I negate the card my opponent plays to that? If it were say, something like Bottomless Trap Hole? And if I didn't negate it, would Bottomless take out both my monsters? Cause, I know if I have two monsters appear at the same time it takes them both out, but does prioriting Red Eyes' effect make them summon at the same time?

Last one, if I prioritied Red Eyes' effect and special summoned a Blue Ice White Nights Dragon, and my opponent then played Bottomless, would it negate and be destroyed due to Blue Ice's effect, saving both of them?

Thanks! ^-^

Monsters that can negate stuff are Spell Speed 2. They CANNOT negate any kind of effect that is Spell Speed 3 (Stardust can't negate the destruction effect of Divine Wrath). I don't know the answer to the second situation.

For your second series of questions, I'm not sure but I believe that the effect would remove PMD and REDMD, and I'm not sure if you can use its effect in response. Blue Ice can't negate BTH, because BTH doesn't target. Danny Lilithborne 07:04, 24 October 2008 (UTC)

For the second question:
"Prime Material Dragon" isn't face-up on the field when "Bottomless Trap Hole" is activated, so "Prime Material Dragon" can't negate it.
If your opponent played "Bottomless Trap Hole" in response to "Prime Material Dragon" being Summoned, then "Prime Material Dragon" could negate the effect. If "Prime Material Dragon" doesn't negate "Bottomless Trap Hole", then only "Prime Material Dragon" is destroyed and removed.
