My opinions on the latest cards from the Order of Chaos set:

Highlights

  • The "Ninja" cards - Ninjas have been in desperate need of support since way back in the GX era; the last Ninja card directly related to this archetype (not counting Karakuri Ninja mdl 339 "Sazank") was Ninja Grandmaster Sasuke in Soul of the Duelist.
  • "Darkstorm Dragon - This is one beast of a Gemini. For only one face-up Spell/Trap, all other Spells/Traps are destroyed. You can use an Equip, Continuous or Field Spells for its cost and you can use it more than once, that is if you can afford it.
  • "Evoltile/Evolsaur/Evolzar" cards - Evols get further support in this set, and what's further interesting is that some effects target Level 6 or lower FIRE Dinosaurs, meaning that they can now combine with a previous Dinosaur archetype: the "Jurracs".
  • "Gagaga Girl" - with this, Special Summoning higher Ranked monsters (apart from the really high monsters like Super Dreadnought Cannon Express Gustaph Max) just became easier. Obviously, this card depends on Gagaga Magician to make full use of its effect, however unlike its counterpart, you can have multiple copies of this card on the field, all capable of copying Magician's Level and at the same fulfilling the conditions for Xyz monsters that require more than 2 monsters.
  • "Wind-Ups" also gain further support for their swarming capabilities with Wind-Up Zenmaighty and Wind-Up Rat being the most interesting here.
  • "Wish Upon a Star" - a counterpart to Resonance Device that takes into account the ATK/DEF instead of Level and Attribute and can affect all monsters instead of just 2. Whether it's better or worse is up to you.
  • "Photon" - not really a competitive archetype yet, but the 2 Galaxy-Eyes Photon Dragon + Polymerization = Twin Photon Lizard => 2 Galaxy-Eyes on the field combo is something to take notice of.
  • "Xyz Reborn" - a revival card beneficial for Xyzs

Least liked

  • "Inzecters" - possibly the most sought after cards from the set, the reason why they're here is because they are so good at what they do, they need to have their capabilities limited. These things can not only swarm and cripple the opponent, but they can also replenish and/or recycle their resources with great ease. Even with a bare field, the Inzecters can easily turn the tables. All that is needed for this archetype to get going are 2 cards: "Damsel" and "Hornet". No doubt they are the next in line for the Metagame. All I can hope is that they will be like the T.G.s and be a one-booster archetype, though that's just wishful thinking.
  • "Number C39: Utopia Ray" - In spite of being the Cover Card, this one is not as tempting to put in the Extra Deck as his counterpart. Even though he requires 3 LIGHT monsters to be Summoned, players will most likely aim for his other method of Summoning, which is considerably less restrictive, presenting little hindrance here. Its effect on the other hand, is not something that will get the players pumped up. Utopia Ray can get a potential 4000 ATK while decreasing a total of 3000 ATK from the opponent's monster(s), however it requires for you to have 1000 LP or less, which players tend to avoid, unless they're a risk taker.

Closing statement Aside from the previously mentioned, there are not a lot of cards introduced here that will be widely used, IMO. Royal Prison can partially lockdown Graveyard reliant Decks, but it's no Royal Oppression. Mist Valley can probably benefit from their altar. DARK monsters get some interesting new toys. And aside from Xyz Reborn, I don't know how much players will be willing to use the other Xyz supports that came along with it.

Feel free to express your opinions on the set here.--PoirotH (talkcontribs) 06:26, November 16, 2011 (UTC)

Trans Archfiend looks pretty good for Fabled or Dark World decks. I feel like there are some cards in this set that are just waiting to be abused beyond belief. Trak0don (talkcontribs) 14:08, November 16, 2011 (UTC)

Photon monsters - I expected more of them, but I think the Twin Photon Lizard is already great, but really expected more, but I think in the next booster will improve as the Monster has Xyz to celebrate, great cards.

I like Inzecters quite a bit, but surprisingly, they're not overpowered. They are very very good, but not overpowered. Wind-Ups, meanwhile, are great fun to play. I don't think that Evols will be too useful, but Ninjas seem to be pretty good right now. Runer5h (talkcontribs) 20:27, November 16, 2011 (UTC)Runer5h

Number C39: Utopia Rays summoning condition of 3 level 4 light monsters is incredibly pointless, if the player can just use ANY 2 level 4 monsters xyz summon Number 39: Utopia and then xyz summon chaos utopia using normal utopia and is xyz material. Why would anyone choose the difficult summonig condition , over the other oone which cn be fufillied by and level 4 monsters

Yes, it does sound pointless, but there are some chances where you did Xyz Summon Number 39: Utopia and stayed with it, then at some point, it got sent to the Graveyard. if that was your only copy of utopia, you might or might not want to summon utopia ray. LastMinute (talkcontribs) 03:28, November 17, 2011 (UTC)
I don't think that Number C39: Utopia Ray was meant to be something you aimed to summon, but rather, just as a back up for when Utopia runs out of materials and might be destroyed soon. IPlay4Fun (talkcontribs) 13:34, November 18, 2011 (UTC)

Evols are something of a waste in my opinion. The problem is that all the Evoldar are just intermediaries - they slow down the strategy. BF2 Talk Deck Guides 21:23, November 16, 2011 (UTC)

I don't care about Altar when I can just use Divine Wind. Lappyzard (talkcontribs) 03:05, November 17, 2011 (UTC)

yeah, after seeing this pack, it didn't please me the same way i first saw Photon Shockwave for some reason. But i do like only some of the 80 cards, like Number 96: Black Mist, Xyz Reborn, Wish Upon a Star, some Photon cards. lol, that Evoltile Casineria is so cheap, except the "at the end of the battle phase, when this card destroys an opponent's monster" part; it makes an easy strategy to Xyz Summon. LastMinute (talkcontribs) 03:28, November 17, 2011 (UTC)

There is also another card I forgot to point out: Huge Revolution Reversal - it's kind of like a Starlight Road; it's a Counter Trap, takes into account the opponent's cards instead of just your own (so it can work against Scrap Dragon), banishes the target instead of destroying it (again Scrap Dragon), but unlike Starlight, it doesn't Summon a monster.--PoirotH (talkcontribs) 06:35, November 17, 2011 (UTC)

Pretty disappointed about Reverse Buster. They nerfed it; it lost its attack gaining effect, and it can only attack face-down monsters. if it had only lose its attack gaining effect, i'm okay with that, but attacking only face-down monsters is going to be difficult to use. LastMinute (talkcontribs) 08:04, November 17, 2011 (UTC)

Most of the stuff Huge Revolution Reversal will negate aren't monster, like dark hole, heavy storm, torrential tribute, it only really hurts celestia , gazyrus, blackrose dragon, and judgement dragon.

[email protected] (talkcontribs) 21:42, November 17, 2011 (UTC)

It hurts Scrap Dragon. That makes it enough to side against (because it works against three decks - Lightsworn, Gladiator Beasts, and Scrap). BF2 Talk Deck Guides 22:21, November 17, 2011 (UTC)

Ooh, Dharc's new form is superior to all the other Familiar Possessed Charmers with a search ability. ...Wait, he chose Lyna, out of all the girls in his harem? (/joke) --Gadjiltron (talkcontribs) 10:14, November 20, 2011 (UTC)

What you're saying, Gajitron, is that Dharc is a pimp? Is that what you're saying?! Adamtheamazing64 (talkcontribs) 01:53, December 2, 2011 (UTC)

Not quite. The six Charmers just looked like a typical setup for your usual harem anime. --Gadjiltron (talkcontribs) 02:33, December 2, 2011 (UTC)
Do you mean to say that Dharc is a GUY!? I always assumed it was just a chick with short hair. Isn't it odd that one out of six charmers is not female? IPlay4Fun (talkcontribs) 02:10, December 5, 2011 (UTC)
Tag Force 4 (JP version) agrees. --Gadjiltron (talkcontribs) 08:37, December 6, 2011 (UTC)

There is NO way to tell.--Helix-king (talkcontribs) 13:12, December 5, 2011 (UTC)

I think Dharc is male. Garchomp87 (talkcontribs) 04:24, December 9, 2011 (UTC)

no more versatil cards

this booster pack and some others..lack of versatil cards, the few that are versatil have a hight rarity...i miss the time when you can pull a card that improve your deck easily... like a coomon sakuretsu armor.

many of the cards can be substituted by a big bounch of old cards...

gagaga girl is the only card i like from this booster pack XD

Biggest waste of money in my opinion, bought 12 packs in 2 days and got nothing but useless commons a rank 6 evolsaur which nobody wants cos its a ball ache to get out....everythings to type specific it sucks and the rip off merchants of konami just make overpowered decks that costs a shed load of money to build.... you'd be surprised at how many people have said they're gonna quit just because of wind ups and inzectors Adam, Manchester UK

That's why we buy boxes rather than mass-purchase individual packs. --Gadjiltron (talkcontribs) 02:50, April 27, 2012 (UTC)

Indeed boxes are the way forward. I pulled a Rescue Rabbit from a Photon Shockwave box and with the money I sold it for brought a box of Order Of Chaos. As for the versatile cards, usually the cards you can put in any deck are easy to get. With the exception of cards like Card Car D. Only if you go after an archetype will it cost you, though nowadays in Yugioh archetypes are the best way to go overall. As for the versatile cards in this pack, they would be Royal Prison, The Huge Revolution is Over and Over Capacity none of them above rare, although Revolution was a short print.

I would suggest in future if you're unhappy with a booster set then don't buy any of them. That's what I'm doing with Galactic Overlord. I'm going to enter the sneak peak and that'll be all the cards I buy for the booster because there's nothing in them I want. I will be though be buying a box of Return of the Duelist, as Geargias and the Earth lot are awesome.--The FireFALL (talkcontribs) 17:31, April 27, 2012 (UTC)

Also the upcoming battle pack will feature a lot of older harder to get cards like Fiendish Chain reprinted in common form so if you're looking for a good source of nice cards buy a pack of them.--The FireFALL (talkcontribs) 18:43, April 27, 2012 (UTC)
