if i were to remove "Horus The Black Flame Dragon LV6" from my graveyard for "Phantom Of Chaos"'s effect, may i then activate "LEVEL UP!" by sending my phantom (currently treated as Horus LV6) to the graveyard to special summon Horus LV8 from hand or deck? i know that phantom no longer retains any gained effects after it leaves the field, but is it still considered to have "copied" the text written on the removed monster to itself until the end phase? "LEVEL UP!" reads, "Send 1 face-up monster on your side of the field that has "LV" in it's card name to the Graveyard to activate this card." because phantom has gained the effects of Horus LV6 at the time you send him from the field as the cost of activation, would "LEVEL UP!" resolve normally since it was activated properly or can you even activate it? the second part of "LEVEL UP!" reads, "Special Summon the monster that is written in the card text of that monster from your hand or Deck, ignoring the Summoning conditions." at the time you determine what monster will be special summoned, (after the monster -cost- was sent to the graveyard) is phantoms effect that copies the text (effect-wise) still applied?

• Did you read the tips section for Phantom of Chaos? If you did you would have found this paragraph:

"This card is great for quickly getting out strong LV monsters that require you to destroy a monster by battle with a lower LV monster in order to summon it, such as "Horus the Black Flame Dragon LV8", or "Armed Dragon LV7". Have a lower LV monster in the graveyard, then use this card to copy that monster's effect for the turn. Once you satisfied the requirements, you can level-up this card during the end phase, and get the higher LV monster from your hand or deck. You can make this combo easier to pull with "Foolish Burial"." This sounds like it is treated EXACTLY like the LV monster, so Level Up! would work.

EDIT: Then again, Neo-Spacian Dark Panther doesn't work with Level Up! so I've changed my mind and am now going to say it doesn't work. N-Pie 10:05, 12 August 2009 (UTC)

• No you cannot use Level up! on Phantom of Chaos that copied Horus the Black Flame LV6. Because Level up! states "Send 1 face-up "LV" monster on your side of the field to the Graveyard. Special Summon a monster from your hand or Deck that is written in the card text of the sent monster, ignoring any and all Summoning conditions." Once Phantom of Chaos is in the graveyard his effect is no longer active so he is not treated as Horus LV6. So the second effect of Level up! where you special summon a monster written on the card text of the sent monster will not apply because Phantom of Chaos doesn't have a monster written on his card text — This unsigned comment was made by Wmac1412 (talk • contribs) 19:29, 12 August 2009 (UTC)

"Wmac1412" and "N-Pie" (last edit) are correct! Phantom of Chaos works exactly like Neo-Spacian Dark Panther in that situation, so Level up!'s effect will disappear when it resolves. ATEMVEGETA (Talk) 22:17, 12 August 2009 (UTC)
