Can you special summon Red Eyes Darkness Metal Dragon by removing a face down dragon monster? Since Icaris Attack can tribute a facedown winged-beast as a cost to activate its effect, does the same apply to REDMD?
Another question, if you use Red eyes wyvern's effect to special summon REDMD, can Solemn Judgement negate it's summoning? I believe that it can't since special summoning REDMD was from the effect of RedEyesWyvern. Example :: When Future Fusion resolves, Solemn Judgement cannot stop the Special Summoning of the monster because it was the effect of Future Fusion which was activated 2 turns ago.
1)Removing a Dragon-Type monster is part of the effect of Red-Eyes Darkness Metal Dragon that Special Summons it.It is not a cost so you cannot remove a face-down monster.
2Solemn Judgment cannot negate a Special Summon if it results from the activated effect of a monster card, likeMystic Tomat,Light and Darkness Dragon,Van'Dalgyon the Dark Dragon Lord, Marauding Captain, Lonefire Blossom, etc.115.135.255.160 02:09, May 7, 2010 (UTC)
So it is the effect of REDMD that special summons it? Just like Dark Simorgh, Machina Fortress, etc. ? Does that mean you can divine wrath the monster when it uses its effect to special summon itself?
1) The "remove from play 1 Dragon-Type monster you control to Special Summon this card." requirement is not an effect, it is a special summoning condition. You cannot remove from play a face-down monster because its attribute, type and stats are unknown. Therefore, you cannot fulfill the special summoning conditions.
To answer your other question you cannot activate Divine Wrath in response to a special summoning condition.
