There, that's the my deck I just recently made. I haven't dueled with this deck yet so I don't know how great it is at the moment but I thought I might as well get to know how others would rate this deck beforehand.

Try A Normal Monster Beatdown Deck
- Instead, why not try taking out all Effect Monsters (Leaving powerful Normal Monsters) and add 3 "Skill Drain"s? That way, you can use a Normal Monster Beatdown Deck. With "Skill Drain", you can negate the effects of "Judgment Dragon", "Dark Armed Dragon", "Gladiator Beast Gyzarus" and more.
If you include Normal Monster Support Cards, it will revolutionize your Deck! Here are some examples:
- Use "Heart of the Underdog" or "Common Charity" for tremendous Draw Power.
- "Dark Factory of Mass Production" to recycle your Normal Monsters.
- "Faustian Bargain" to eliminate your opponent's powerful, Special Summoned monster and to Swarm your field with Normal Monsters.
- "Non-Spellcasting Area" to protect your Normal Monsters.
- "Justi-Break"; If you use 3 of these, you will basically have 4 "Mirror Force"s in your Deck!
- "Birthright"; If you use 3 of these, you will basically have 4 "Monster Reborn"s in your Deck!
"Burden of the Mighty" is a powerful card. You should use 3 in your Deck. I would also recommend for you to discard "Raregold Armor", "Wave-Motion Cannon", "Dark Snake Syndrome", "Savage Colosseum", "Final Attack Orders", "Battle Mania", "Metal Reflect Slime", "Metalmorph", "Widespread Ruin", "Sakuretsu Armor", "Draining Shield", "Staunch Defender", "Negate Attack" and "Light of Intervention" in your Deck for the cards I mentioned above.
Good Luck with your Deck!

Thanks for all that!! I'll see how my deck goes first then I'll see what changes I can do by replacing the cards you recommended. If there are any more tips/recommendations, it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks again!!

I know from experience that decks like these can be very powerful and force your opponent to deal with strong monsters almost immediately, however, I think you'll find that if your opponent gets out a monster with over 2000 ATK, it will be difficult for you to get over that. Two-Man Cell Battle is a good way to add some special summons to your deck if you decide to go in the normal monster direction.
Maybe try putting in some cards that give you a little bit more control of your deck. I like the idea of a normal monster beatdown deck, you do have a lot of strong normal monsters. If you do, throw in 2 or 3 Heat Wave to really break your opponents strategy.
If you decide to stick with the cards you are using now, i think the deck is just about perfect. You use a lot of equip cards, so maybe some cards that benefit from using equips.

I seem to agree with the whole Normal Beatdown deck as I look into each of the recommended cards mentioned above and on this Normal Monster Deck page. However, I am pleased to hear that my deck is just about perfect (although not the best I would say). I'm quite suprised no one has said anything about The Wicked Dreadroot as I thought it would be my downfall or needs some protection to stay on the field.

Normal Monster Support
Extra Normal Monster Support
- I believe you can construct an excellent, powerful Deck. Here are examples of other effective Normal Monster Support Cards:
- Using "Heat Wave" in your Deck will prevent your opponent from Summoning any monsters for 2 Turns!
- "Secrets of the Gallant" is a VERY powerful card. When a Normal Monster inflicts Battle Damage, it will eliminate "Battle Fader", "Swift Scarecrow" or "Gorz the Emissary of Darkness"!
- Don't forget you can use "Blue-Eyes White Dragon" in your Deck; the strongest Normal Monster in YuGiOh History! Add it from your Deck to your Hand using "Summoner's Art" and Special Summon it (Directly without Tributes) from your Hand using "Ancient Rules".
Here examples of other powerful Normal Monsters:
- "Luster Dragon": A 1900 ATK monster with 1600 DEF
- "Archfiend Soldier": A 1900 ATK monster with 1500 DEF
- "Gladiator Beast Andal": A 1900 ATK monster with 1500 DEF
- "Insect Knight": A 1900 ATK monster with 1500 DEF
Once again, Good Luck with your Deck!

This is just a roughly made deck and could use some improvements. After looking it through, there may be too many magic cards but that's just my opinion. Any tips/improvements?

I'd drop Two-Man Cell Battle for Ultimate Offering, Blue-Eyes White Dragon for Frostosaurus, then as you're using Ultimate Offering you can use White Elephant's Gift (IE: pay 500lp, draw 2)

Normal Monster Suport Cards.
RE:Normal Monster Beatdown Deck
- "White Elephant's Gift" can be exchnaged for "Common Charity", as the Normal Monsters are in your Hand instead of the Field. "Heart of the Underdog", however, is much more consistent because it allows the controller to Draw Multiple Cards in 1 Turn and is a Continuous Spell Card (Remains on the Field). Also, since the controller will be Drawing into more Normal Monster Cards, "Ultimate Offering" and "Faustian Bargain" will allow a controller to overwhelm their opponent with Field Advantage.
In ATK and DEF Terms, I would definitely use 3 "Burden of the Mightys", and 2 "Shrinks". Halving "Dark Armed Dragon"'s 2800 ATK Points to 1400 ATK Points is a Game Changing Move. Or with 1 "Burden of the Mighty" on the Field, a "Gemini Elf" could destroy a "Gladiator Beast Gyzarus". Those, however, were two of hundreds of exmaples.
In respect to User:Resk's comment, I would also recommend "Ultimate Offering". 500 Life Points is Cheap for an Extra Normal Summon. Include these Cards in your Deck and it will be Complete!
From User: 002517!! (talk) 13:10, February 28, 2011 (UTC)
- Heart of the Underdog only really works when the monster count is 25-30 I find, as it's too incosistant, and it's easy to destroy, so oft ends up as just a -1 -Resk (Talk) 13:13, February 28, 2011 (UTC)
Normal Monster Support Cards.
RE: Heart of the Underdog
- Well, OK. "Common Charity", however, should replace "White Elephant's Gift" though. It is an "Allure of Darkness" for Normal Monsters, that isn't Limited.
From User: 002517!! (talk) 12:04, March 1, 2011 (UTC)
- I just prefer gift, as it's same turn draw, when used with Ultimate Offering, but to each their own-Resk (Talk) 12:06, March 1, 2011 (UTC)
Making a Deck
With all these tips and recommendations, all of it was very helpful however it led me to the point of having too many cards to choose from and cannot make a choice between the number of cards available to me. Basically now, what I'll do is list all the cards that are available then try to make a deck out of that list. There may be a fair number of pointless cards but I thought it would better to list them as they might actually be picked out anyway. So, here's the list.
Monster Cards
|
---|
TRIBUTE MONSTERS
NORMAL MONSTERS
EFFECT MONSTERS
|
Now, if you were given these cards, how would you make your beatdown deck? Would you make a normal monster deck or a deck with powerful effects with plenty of equip spells? Would you have traps to destroy the opponent's monster or swarm the field with your monsters while protecting them? It's all upto you!!
