I summoned a monster from my Extra Deck and my opponent used "Book of Moon" to prevent it from attacking. On his Turn, he activates "Shadoll Fusion" and sends the materials from his Deck. When I asked him what he's doing, he replied that since I controlled a Monster, that was summoned from the Extra Deck, he can use this effect. I am pretty sure that the monster needs to be face-up to work, but he insisted that it doesn't matter since "Shadoll Fusion" does not specify that the monster has to be face-up.
I'm quite certain that I was right, but I still wanted to ask: Who was right? I want to know, just in case a similar event should occur again. - BronzeJohnson (talk • contribs) 08:43, May 12, 2014 (UTC)
- Given the card's current unofficial English translation specifying the monster doesn't need to be face-up... Special Summoned monsters that were flipped face-down (and even later Flip Summoned) still count as "Special Summoned monsters". This corresponds with the rulings for "Koa'ki Meiru Tornado" and "Special Hurricane". --UltimateKuriboh (talk • contribs) 09:37, May 12, 2014 (UTC)
Really? I knew that BoM does not "reset" the summon, as in Black Luster Soldier - Envoy of the Beginning being flipped facedown and then destroyed can be summoned again from the graveyard, but this seems so weird to me. I thought you had to (at least) be able to verify that the monster was summoned from the Extra Deck, i.e. being face-up. I guess I wrong then, but I think they should specify that on the card. - BronzeJohnson (talk • contribs) 14:19, May 12, 2014 (UTC)
- If the Special Summoned monster needed to be face-up, wouldn't they have said face-up? --Dark Ace SP (Talk) 02:18, May 13, 2014 (UTC)
