Forum:Spell counters question

1)Let's say Magical Citadel of Endymion is out. When exactly are spell counters added? Is it at activation of the spell card or at resolution(whether it was countered or not)? And does it take up the chain? I remember something where if MCE is at 0 counters and you mst it, it is destroyed, thus leading to the fact that spell counters are added at resolution, not activation.

2)Let's say both geartown and magical exemplar are out. I decide to use mst on geartown. Geartown is destroyed, optional effect activated, but immediately i get 2 counters on Magical Exemplar. Do miss timing? Aznxknight (talkcontribs) 07:56, April 2, 2011 (UTC)

1) You gain the counter imediatly after the effect resolved. It is continous like effect, there is no chain when gaining the counter. So, with 0 counters it is still destroyed.

2) SEGOC, there is no Missing the Timing. But even if, gaining counters is a continous effect, it doesn't even start a chain, it can't cause something to miss the timing. -dest- (talkcontribs) 09:23, April 2, 2011 (UTC)
