In a situation where you deal damage with Spirit Reaper and the opponent only has Gorz in their hand, which effect would have priority?
In other words, would Spirit Reaper discard Gorz before it can be summoned, or would Gorz work before Spirit Reaper can discard it? EHeroFlareNeos 00:23, November 4, 2009 (UTC)
- That's good question, damage would cause the result... Gorz would coming first or Spirit Reaper pierce his good weapon on Gorz's butt before he made a pose on the field... Hm... But I am leaning to Gorz's summon effect first more. FredCat100 00:25, November 4, 2009 (UTC)
The Battle damage happened, gorz is summoned during the damage step, the discard effect is right after the damage effect, Gorz would get priority. --Mudvaynex018x
- Cards never have Priority; only players do.
- When Battle Damage is inflicted, the effects of "Spirit Reaper" and "Gorz the Emissary of Darkness" both try to activate at the same time, so they form a Chain according to SEGOC.
- Chain Link 1: "Spirit Reaper" (since the effect is mandatory)
- Chain Link 2: "Gorz the Emissary of Darkness" (since the effect is optional)
- (Resolve backwards)
- Chain Link 2: "Gorz the Emissary of Darkness" Special Summons itself.
- Chain Link 1: "Spirit Reaper" resolves without effect, since there are no cards in the hand.
