Forum:Sprite Beatdown

I want to use Woodland Sprite and Flame Sprite as my main cards. I'm having trouble finding cards to pull them out of my deck. I also want to draw my opponents attacks from those cards, but I'm not sure if the cards I picked are the right ones for this deck. I'm sure my deck has taken a completely different course. Now my monsters focus on raising their attacks with equip cards or by their own effects.

UFO Turtle can search Raging Flame Sprite, Lonefire Blossom, Violet Witch and Botanical Girl can search Woodland Sprite. Sangan can search both.

As for the deck:

Run triples of the cards you are focusing on: Raging Flame Sprite and Woodland Sprite

drop all your normal monsters and related cards, they won't help you any, unless your deck is dedicated to them and the Huge Revolution combo will be too slow, unless you run triples of all the related cards, which is not not worth the space in your deck.

Since you want your deck to focus on the two sprites, the best path for you to go is protection/stall (or the sprites), burn using the Woodland sprite's effect, and direct attacking using Raging Flame Sprite's effect.

so, you'll want, Gravity Bind, Swords of Revealing Light, Level Limit Area B and Ordeal of the Traveler for stall and protection from attacks.

And protection from effect destruction, which can be done with Stardust Dragon (and Stardust Assault Mode), and spell, trap, and monster effect negation, such as Titannial, Princess of Camelias, Divine Wrath, Solemn Judgment, ect.

you'll want several equip cards, and multiple copies, to use for Woodland Sprite's effect, preferably ones which could be used for alternate beatdown, or for boosting Raging Flame Sprite's direct attacks, like: Mage Power, Horn of the Unicorn, Malevolent Nuzzler and Axe of Despair.

Since Raging Flame Spite is fire, and Woodland Sprite is a plant, you should probably combine the two archtypes together for your deck, instead of using random cards like you did.

basically take three copies of each sprite and start completely over from stratch, focusing on Equip spells that can return to your hand/deck or give a large boost to atk, syncro summoning for stardust dragon, stall tactics, and negation or lockdown. Would be my advice. 70.247.169.204 21:09, March 23, 2010 (UTC)

Sangan is limited, you can't use two in your deck.

You really need three copies of each sprite.

I would strongly suggest buying more cards so you can put together a deck that isn't a random assortment of monsters that don't support each other well.

Lay off the Ice Barrier, focus on Fire and Plants only. The Only card I'd suggest keeping from your original build is Maha Vailo

Definitely Drop: De-spell (use MST or Giant Trunade instead), Numinous Healer (that's only worth using if you're running 3 copies, and subpar at that, a better LP gain card would be Solemn Wishes or Spell Absorption, but I don't suggest you use LP gain cards), Dark Snake Syndrome (you're just as likely to kill yourself as your opponent with it, there are much better Burn cards you could use.), Invasion of Flames, Mirage Dragon, Serpentine Princess, Spirit Ryu (what dragons are you planning on using for his effect?), and Block Attack.

useful Fire Monsters: Solar Flare Dragon x2-3 (to lock your opponent's attacks), and Ultimate Baseball Kid (high attacker with other fire monsters and can bypass level limit and gravity bind.

useful plant monsters: Lonefire Blossom (can tribute self or other plant type to search out any plant monster you need, and Fire), Tytannial, Princess of Camellias (easily summoned with Lonefire Blossom, can negate effects that target by tributing self or other plants), Seed of Flame (can summon plants from the graveyard if destroyed by a card effect, high attacker, at level 3, can bypass level limit and Gravity), Violet Witch (not a plant or fire, but can search any plant under 1500 def when destroyed by battle, such as Woodland Sprite, or Lonefire Blossom.

Spells/traps: drop negate attack, and add another Woboku or Threatening Roar to protect your monsters during the battle phase, drop Spellbinding Circle, Shadow Spell, Kaiser Colosseum, and Ring of Magnetism, those and the other traps you cleared out, are better used for spell/trap defense, like Solemn Judgment, Divine Wrath, Dark Bribe, Cold Wave, and Magic Jammer.

Raging Flame Sprite is going to get really big atk really quickly if you can keep him on the field. Once that happens, it'll be safe from battle, and only be vulnerable to destruction effects, so you need to keep those suppressed while you continue to burn and beatdown your opponent directly. 70.247.169.204 18:43, March 24, 2010 (UTC)

Wouldn't Phoenixian Cluster Amaryllisfit into this deck? Burn, plant and Fire xD 83.177.82.65 21:31, March 24, 2010 (UTC)

You're right, I forgot about that one. May be a better choice then Tytannial, Princess of Camellias, though Tytannial is still a good card. 70.247.169.204 22:12, March 24, 2010 (UTC)

A new deck direction?

looks pretty good to me.

Gravity Bind is limited though.

I suppose you only want to use cards you already own? That's understandable.

I'd suggest using Iron Blacksmith Kotetsu, United We Stand and Armed Samurai - Ben Kei if you can. Hidden Armory and Spring of Rebirth are also good cards for equipment decks. Also, Mage Power, max it, x3.

Also, use fewer Equip spells, you should only need 3-6 total, and it lets you slim up your deck for staple cards, like Shrink, MST, Giant Trunade, Smashing Ground/Fissure, ect. which are much more versatile then equips, and don't suffer from Heavy Storm (which your opponents Will be using)

  • Might I suggest: Lucky Iron Axe for a bit of possible draw power. Unless I am mistaken, other than Pot of Avarice you have no source of draw power. At least with the axe you have the chance of drawing more cards. Otherwise, it looks like an interesting deck idea.

I'm getting ready to finalize this deck. Are there anymore cards that would work for this deck? DarkMageDragon94 18:38, March 25, 2010 (UTC)

Golden Bamboo Sword and Broken Bamboo Sword would be better draw power then Lucky Iron axe, since you can control when/if you draw not your opponent. Hidden Armory at three will allow you to deck thin too. 70.247.169.204 21:02, March 25, 2010 (UTC)

in the actual march 2010 list gravity bind is not limited Yoshistory 01:02, March 26, 2010 (UTC)

As of 25 days ago, Gravity Bind is limited in bot the advanced an traditional lists. I've added Royal Magical Library to help draw cards. DarkMageDragon94 03:20, March 26, 2010 (UTC)

yoshistory, your entire deck is full of banned cards, I don't think we should be listening to you about what's limited and what's not.

Royal Magical Library is a good choice, especially since you have so many Equip spells. 70.247.169.204 12:11, March 26, 2010 (UTC)
