Did the new wording of Starlight Road actually change the rules, or is it just an oversight by Konami? Battlemaniac (talk • contribs) 20:31, June 17, 2012 (UTC)
- Oversight, they both just same meaning - only more understandable. --iFredCat 20:39, June 17, 2012 (UTC)
I mean the negating effect vs negating activation thing. It matters for cards with restrictions, for Spell Counters, etc. Battlemaniac (talk • contribs) 20:43, June 17, 2012 (UTC)
It is just redundant text added to remind people that:
1. Activating a card is activating an effect. i.e. Dark Hole, Heavy Storm, etc.
2. Activating an effect is not activating a card. i.e. already face-up Judgment Dragon, Core Blast, Goblin Fan, etc. HHT - (Talk to the Turtle) 11:09, June 18, 2012 (UTC)
So many wrong answers... With the new Starlight Road PSCT, it is negating activations and not effects. This means that:
With the old text, Starlight Road negated the effect of Heavy Storm, yet Heavy Storm still resolved without effect, and that's why Torrential Tribute or Bottomless Trap Hole would miss the timing, because you cannot activate cards in the middle of resolving a chain.
Now, since Starlight Road negates the activation of Heavy Storm, it will never resolve. That means that the last thing to happen after the chain is fully resolved is the summon of Stardust Dragon, meaning that now you can Torrential Tribute or BTH it.
