Forum:Tips for non-meta deck

I made my first top-tier deck a few weeks ago. Its Quickdraw-Plants-ish; its pretty good. Well the deck wasn't very fun to make. I feel unoriginal making top-tier decks. How does one make a top-tier worthy deck that actually isn't a meta deck? I don't want something like "So-and-so's are a great deck if you blah blah", a mill deck, Archetypes, or anything like that. I want a few pointers and tips on how to defeat meta decks, such as how a non-meta deck should be constructed in regards to using more support or more staples or something like that. The first goal is consistancy.
Cards such as Safe Zone, & Staples add to this, as do Searcher cards, as do Draw cards, & deck thining,
Cards that limit opponents actions are good too, but that tends to be 'anti-meta' (Rai-Oh, Decree),
Uh... yeah, knowning how your deck works is also fairly important, I've been playing my Ojamas recently, and beating a number of meta consistantly, but when other people try to use it, it gets depressing :3
Not sure what else you're asking :p

You want something non-meta that works? You could try Koa'ki Meiru Urnight Xyz decks.BobaFett2 (talk)

I know its been a while since i've posted this. But thanks Resk for your answer. I didn't understand your answer at the time, but upon rereading it recently, I get it now. See, I made an Ojama deck myself, and threw in plenty of Shining Angels and Key Mouse. It has 49 cards, I think, so deck thinners are kinda useless. But making that deck helped me figure out my question. Your post kinda inspired me (but along with many other things) to make the Ojama deck, so thank you. Here it is if you want to rate it. Your help is needed and appreciated. G8tr1522 (talkcontribs) 04:24, August 31, 2011 (UTC)
