Granmarg the Rock Monarch (Raid Boss)

Granmarg the Rock Monarch is a Raid Boss in Yu-Gi-Oh! Cross Duel. This is the monster form of "Granmarg the Rock Monarch" when Summoned by the Raid Duelist, Strong 19. This Raid is preceded by "Caius the Shadow Monarch" and followed by "Thestalos the Firestorm Monarch".

The BossBuster-Skill-CrossDuel.png Boss Buster and ImmunityPositionChange-Skill-CrossDuel.png Immunity: Position Change Skills are recommended for this Raid.

Mechanics[edit]

Granmarg always has a weak point exposed in the lane behind it. During each Boss Phase, Granmarg will turn to face a random new lane, apply its own effects, attack directly (except on the first turn), and create any objects necessary. Then, Strong 19 will Summon 1 "Landrobe the Rock Vassal" with ATK/DEF depending on the Raid Boss's Level to the lane behind Granmarg, and prepare 1 of the following Spells/Traps to play, if necessary:

Granmarg's attacks will inflict 1200 damage on Easy and Medium difficulty and 1500 damage on Hard difficulty. At Level 5, Strong 19 will prepare "Earthquake" every other turn, starting on the second turn. At Levels 6 through 10, Strong 19 will prepare 1 Spell/Trap every other turn, starting on the first turn. At Level 11 and above, Strong 19 will prepare a Spell/Trap every turn. Strong 19 will not prepare the same Spell/Trap twice in a row, and will not repeat Spells/Traps until after every Spell/Trap has been played once.

Granmarg has the following effect, depending on the difficulty:

Difficulty Effect
Easy
(Levels 1-5)
<In the Boss Phase>
- Apply "Negation" to the Skills of all players' Defense Position monsters and then destroy them.
- Until the end of this turn, monsters cannot be Summoned by any player in one non-central Monster Zone chosen at random.
<At the End of the Battle Phase>
Add a weak point to the Raid Boss for each object destroyed this turn.
Medium
(Levels 6-15)
<In the Boss Phase>
- Apply "Negation" to the Skills of all players' Defense Position monsters and then destroy them.
- Until the end of this turn, monsters cannot be Summoned by any player in two non-central Monster Zones chosen at random.
<At the End of the Battle Phase>
Add a weak point to the Raid Boss for each object destroyed this turn.
Hard
(Levels 16-25)

Granmarg is stunned at the start of the Boss Phase until the start of the next turn after a certain amount of damage is dealt to its weak points, increasing depending on the Raid Boss's Level. Any active objects, shields and Raid Monsters will be destroyed when the Raid Boss is stunned. While stunned, the Raid Boss will not attack, apply its effects, create objects, Summon monsters, or prepare Spells/Traps, and will have exposed weak points in all 4 lanes. When Granmarg recovers from being stunned, it hides all of its weak points except for the one in the lane behind it.

Objects[edit]

Granmarg will create 2 Earth Crystals during the first turn, as well as on the turn after it recovers from a stun, and 1 Earth Crystal every turn otherwise. On Easy and Medium difficulty, Earth Crystals have 1 hit point, while on Hard difficulty, Earth Crystals have 2 hit points.

Earth Crystals have the following effect:

<In the Boss Phase>
During this turn, increase Boss attack damage by 100 for each Raid Boss weak point.

Special Rules[edit]

In a Raid Duel against Granmarg, Level 5-6 monsters will gain 1 BossBuster-Skill-CrossDuel.png Boss Buster and Level 7 or higher monsters will gain 2 BossBuster-Skill-CrossDuel.png Boss Buster.
