Swarm of is a series of DARK monsters that share the same effect to flip itself into face-down Defense Position once per turn and activate their effect when flipped face-up. The series mostly consists of Level 3 Insect monsters with an original ATK and DEF divisible by 500 (with the exception of "Swarm of Crows", a Level 5 Winged Beast monster with 1200 ATK/1800 DEF).

Design

All the cards in this series feature a large amount of creatures in their artwork. In the OCG, the naming scheme is "[Name of the creature in Katakana]" + "2 Kanji" that represents large amount of creatures. In the TCG, they are all named "Swarm of" + the creature the artwork illustrated.
