Upper Deck has ZERO to do with this or anything Yu-Gi-Oh! also this is meant to be a CHILDREN's Card Game, hense the less zombified look~MEOW~ Might of the BIRD Empire~~ 01:55, 23 August 2009 (UTC)

That's where you are wrong, japanese don't consider the audience of anime and tcg to be children, americans don´t understand that and think any "cartoon" related material is related to children so they censor it, but as a matter of fact, yugioh players are mostly teens and young adults just like videogame players, also since the game is too complicated and expensive for most children to play. its better lookin like a zombie Blackwingggys 01:55, 23 August 2009 (UTC)

What I don't understand is why they changed it at all? In the history of the English TCG there have been far gorier Humanoid monsters that have gone unedited.

Examples include: Clown Zombie Armored Zombie Archfiend Zombie-Skull

In their card artworks they show exposed bone, rotting flesh, and even decaying tendons in the case of Zombie-Skull.

But to be fair these cards are in the Zombie monster class, and the Darksea monsters depict Humanoids which do appear to be very dead and not reanimated like the Zombie cards.

So what seems to be happening here is that Konami is saying to the TCG players is that fantasy violence and gore is a-ok, but when you make references to dead humans that's a bit too much.

(Note: None of this applies to the original target audience in Japan though)
