Does this card only saves traps, what about spells, like an activated Premature Burial, etc. or face-down spells? I think this card needs an update.

Yes this card only saves traps; the card is quite explicit in its description box. Rather than waiting for something that's tremendously unlikely like an update, why not just substitute another card for this one?
