Split[edit]

If the fact, that it uses a note, rather than already being split is what's making anyone uncertain about splitting the page, you can disregard that.

Viz switched back and forth between Spell and Trap:

  • It was labelled a Trap, but called a Spell when used by the ventriloquist.
  • For the rest of Duelist Kingdom, it was a Trap.
  • Kaiba VS Duel Machine and R, it was a Spell.
  • GX, it was back to being a Trap.

I knew it also changed type in the Japanese manga, but didn't feel like going through all appearances at the time I made that edit, so I just stuck in a vague note.

But it does seem to consistently be a Spell with the more poetic lore throughout the original and R. And a Trap with the OCG lore for everything since then. So I'm okay with the split. -- Deltaneos (talk) 13:48, January 10, 2016 (UTC)

I don't read the manga, so I and try and avoid making manga splits, instead just asking about them based on the content on the wiki.
I would like to point out one issue with the split though: this image indicates that it was a Spell Card with the OCG-like lore at some point in GX. While I think original/R poetic lore and GX-on OCG-like lore should be separate pages from each other, I don't know about the GX Spell Card; I think a change in card type (in the Japanese version) should be grounds for a split, and I think the old lore and new lore are different enough to split, so that would be 3 pages. Anyone have any thoughts on that issue? (Also, knowing which chapters in GX it was a Spell Card would be helpful.) --SnorlaxMonster 16:48, January 10, 2016 (UTC)
Actually, it was a Spell in GX until its last two uses in that manga (so chapters 51 and 63). So it was a Spell most of the time in GX as well. Cheesedude (talkcontribs) 21:49, January 10, 2016 (UTC)
