Galleries[edit]

Should we create a Gallery page featuring all of the token cards (sheep, ojama, metal fiend, wc 2009, etc.)? --GoldenSandslash15 05:43, December 7, 2009 (UTC)

National Championship 2009 Token[edit]

Shouldn't "National Championship 2009 Token" have a page of its own as well? --Golden Key (talkcontribs) 20:05, March 8, 2012 (UTC)

It's not a separate card or Token. It's just an artwork for the card called "Token" (i.e. the card that has no ATK, DEF etc. of its own and can be used as a proxy for any Token). "Sheep Token", "Lamb Token", "Mirage Token" etc. have their own articles because they're actual Tokens Summoned by the effects of other cards and have their own ATK, DEF, Level, Type etc. Although I would suggest that we remove "This card can be used as any Token." and sets like Token Pack from those articles, since they're properties of the card "Token", not the tokens depicted in the artworks. -- Deltaneos (talk) 00:10, March 9, 2012 (UTC)
So on that note, the three tokens on this page shouldn't get their own pages either, right? --Golden Key (talkcontribs) 00:19, March 9, 2012 (UTC)
Yeah, I don't think they should get their own pages. Same with the 2009 Event Token Promos (not sure if that's the proper name), where you could get "Token" cards with a photograph of yourself as the artwork. -- Deltaneos (talk) 15:39, March 10, 2012 (UTC)
If anything, Token should probably redirect to the Token Monster page and the various token cards shown on that page. Tokens are not cards in their own right, and the graphic on the token card has no bearing whatsoever on what it can be used for (i.e. you could use the sheep token card for anything, including sheep tokens). It's counter-intuitive for "token" (a game rules term) to lead to a page about a specific "card called Token" when they're clearly all called Token and aren't technically even cards themselves. Adrian Malacoda (talkcontribs) 05:47, March 22, 2012 (UTC)
Token is a shortened name for Monster Tokens, but there is also a card called "Token" which can be used as Monster Tokens. And "Token" is a card, albeit not one in the traditional sense. Neither are "Voyage to the Kingdom", "Duelist ID Card", tip cards etc. They're all printed as cards, which alone is reason to give them articles. They're also needed to document their set numbers etc.
A "Sheep Token" can't be used as any Token mainly because no card called "Sheep Token" has been released. The card called "Token" has been released with "Sheep Token" illustrations and can be used as a "Sheep Token" or any Token, but the card itself is not a "Sheep Token". The rulebook says that any object with two distinctive ways of placing it can be used as a Monster Token. The card "Token" is just one of these objects. -- Deltaneos (talk) 14:07, March 22, 2012 (UTC)
I agree that we should remove "This card can be used as any Token." from pages like "Sheep Token", "Lamb Token", etc. Since it is the lore for a card called "Token", not for cards called "Sheep Token", etc. ZingerZheng (talkcontribs) 22:38, July 14, 2012 (UTC)

Set tables[edit]

Should the sets section be updated to the table format? It would become a very long table and the type of token (sheep, ojama etc.) couldn't be displayed any longer. What do you think? Zustel (talkcontribs) 09:11, January 20, 2018 (UTC)
