Me and a group of friends enjoy getting together to play Yu-Gi-Oh every once in a while. We stopped playing for a few years, but have recently just started back up. We play multiplayer games...usually 3-5 of us battling it out. We do play by some modified "house" rules. We also play Traditional Format only, and we use the current Limited list.
We also play 24,000 life point games instead of 8,000...games can last hours! (just recently we played a 4 player game that lasted about 3 hours. We had 8 Fiber Jar activations before the game ended! lol).
Some of the "house" rules we play by:
- Spell and Trap cards we play that destroy other spell or trap cards...also negate their effects (so Mystical Space Typhoon can negate as well as destroy. Same with Dust Tornado).
- We can summon monsters directly in face up defense position.
- If a card says to destroy "1" card on the field...we can destroy 1 of those cards from each opponent. For example: I can remove a counter from Breaker the Magical Warrior to destroy 1 spell or trap card from each of my opponents. Same goes with cards like Soul Taker, Mystical Space Typhoon, and Shield Crush.
- Cards like Mobius the Frost Monarch or Soul Release can still only effect the number stated on the card.
- Cards like Cyber Dragon require that ALL of my opponents have at least 1 monster for me to be able to special summon.
- We all start at 24,000 Life Points.
Like I said, games can last a long time. That being said, 40 cards just don't cut it in our games. Some of the cards that are played include Needle Worm, Morphing Jar 2, Cyber Jar and Morphing Jar. Running just 40 cards in your deck will see you decking out quick. I've tried playing a 50'ish card deck and found that was too small as well...tried 60 cards and it was okay, but I was still decking out too much for comfort. I'm now at 70 cards in my deck and am finding this to be just about right for our games. I rarely deck out at 70.

I'm super proud of this deck and love to "bling" it out with foils lol. It's 70 cards and the only 4 cards that aren't super rare or higher are my 3 Soul Takers, and my Witch of the Black Forest. Secret rare Soul Takers go for about $85 each! And they don't make a Witch of the Black Forest in a rarity higher then starfoil rare (in English that I'm aware of).
