RE:Phantom Synchro[edit]
I'm fairly sure that the edit change pages say "Please do not reply to this email". But I digress. Yes, those two types of Synchro Summon are different, and that type of Xyz Summon that Vector used is different to the requirements used for a Phantom Synchro. To be a "Phantom Xyz" as you put it (there isn't an official term as of yet) the Xyz Materials would have to be on the field, while the Xyz Monster being Summoned would be in the Graveyard. As far as I remember there hasn't been a case of that happening; Vector used materials in the Graveyard to Xyz Summon from the Extra Deck, while Yuma used materials in the Graveyard to Summon a monster from the Graveyard.
