RE: SVGs[edit]

 1. Don't work, what do you mean?
 2. ^_^ A gradient or something to match the look of the original is always nice. btw: Like on the dark, from what I remember of the cards that white blur above the Kanji says "Dark" so basically on all the attributes there's actually the attribute's name above the Kanji in small text in white.
 3. Ya I know... This wiki is lacking a lot of good technical stuff. I'm going to be coming up with a bunch of improvements and helping make the changes, using bots, manpower, or whatever is needed. The Yu-Gi-Oh! Wiki is actually considering joining Wikia ACG (New name for WGEP) because simply put... Wikia ACG is a project underdeveloped in editors and overdeveloped in technical things like JS/CSS/Templates, and the Yu-Gi-Oh! Wiki is a wiki overdeveloped in editors, but underdeveloped in the technical things. ^_^ So the two fit together quite nicely, even though I would have thought trying to get wiki far larger than the project to be a big challenge.

^_^ Heh... I think I should put some sort of administrators, or staff something page for Wikia ACG... I'm the head and founder, Afker is much like right hand for the Gaming related wiki like TYPE-MOON that might join (He's also a good aid for Japanese to), and you're a better SVG artist than anyone I've seen around.

TwoTailedFox had another request ^_^ lol. As you can see below, Spell and Trap cards have a icon where the Attribute goes on Monster cards (Upper right, opposite to the name). And they don't even have small crappy .gif versions of those. So he was hopping you could do those to.

File:BigWaveSmallWave-SOD-EN-C-1E.jpg File:NegateAttack-YSDJ-EN-C-1E.jpg

How much you considering on doing? I was actually thinking of surprising everyone with a set of other icons like the one you see inside [Trap Card @] on the Negate Attack trap card there. (If you felt like doing that much) Some of the cards have those there (I think that one is Counter, I also remember seeing Quick Play on some Spell cards). ~NOTASTAFF Daniel Friesen-local (DanTMan, Nadir Seen Fire) (talk) Sep 21, 2007 @ 18:26 (UTC)

BTW: I don't know if you have ever used IRC. But Wikia ACG has a new channel on FreeNode, and you can also get to it through Wikia's CGI:IRC. The information on it is at Anime:Project:IRC. Feel free to join it whenever you want, I've poked Afker into actually joining the channel when he logs on IRC. ~NOTASTAFF Daniel Friesen-local (DanTMan, Nadir Seen Fire) (talk) Sep 21, 2007 @ 18:28 (UTC)

Found another, Divine. Used in cards like The Creator God of Light, Horakhty. ~NOTASTAFF Daniel Friesen-local (DanTMan, Nadir Seen Fire) (talk) Sep 23, 2007 @ 11:25 (UTC)
^_^ I found something that might make things easier for you. The Official Upper Deck Entertainment Rule Book has some higher quality attribute images. ~NOTASTAFF Daniel Friesen-local (DanTMan, Nadir Seen Fire) (talk) Sep 24, 2007 @ 23:16 (UTC)

Attribute Icon[edit]

please do an attribute icon of for light monsters — This unsigned comment was made by 98.234.28.27 (talkcontribs)

here ya go: File:Light.svg --Radaghast 19:04, March 22, 2010 (UTC)
Can you make the Light icon color a bit lighter (a bit more orange)? Also, it would be niced if you can make the icon of all Type too. Thanks for your great work. --Blackwings0605 05:00, March 23, 2010 (UTC)
Glad you enjoy it ;) Orange didn't look well on such a background, so I went for yellow. Better now? Type icons will be more tricky, but I'll see what I can do (perhaps next week). --Radaghast 11:41, March 26, 2010 (UTC)

Light Atrribute Symbol[edit]

I think you might want to fix your Light Attribute Symbol. Something about it just seems kind of off.--Thanonyx 03:20, March 26, 2010 (UTC)

Bingo! I messed up the SVG dialect. Thanks for noticing, fixed now together with the colouring issue. --Radaghast 11:41, March 26, 2010 (UTC)
I meant the kanji symbol. The 2 diagonal lines in the top corners don't match up with the ones on the original. --Thanonyx 23:08, March 26, 2010 (UTC)
Well, it’s just a different font, that’s all. Prooflink: hikari. Well, perhaps you still have a point and we need to choose another font or make it manually fit such that it looks exactly like on the ref. --Radaghast 23:59, March 29, 2010 (UTC)
I know you changed it to look right, but why isn't it showing up on any of the pages you put it on? It just shows the old one.--Thanonyx 15:45, April 6, 2010 (UTC)
My guess is that it takes some time to propagate the updates. It has something to do with caching: both local browser caches and global wikia ones. Perhaps the admin knows how to force the changes to happen asap. --Radaghast 16:17, April 6, 2010 (UTC)

Warrior-Type Icon[edit]

Hi, Radaghast. I really like your icons! But for the Warrior-Type the part of the sword where the warrior holds is circular, so can you do it more retangular, like the original? Thanks ShredderArbok 19:48, March 30, 2010 (UTC)

Thanks, corrected! By the way, do you happen to have any idea about where to get a better (more hq) reference than our PNGs here? --Radaghast 13:05, March 31, 2010 (UTC)
Unfortunately, no :( ShredderArbok 23:43, April 6, 2010 (UTC)

Wind icon[edit]

Sorry about the bombardment of requests, but there's a problem with the Wind icon. It won't display at 34px. -- Deltaneos (talk) 13:47, April 3, 2010 (UTC)

Takes some time to adjust, don’t ask me about the reason, all I know is it just happens, and has nothing to do with the file itself. Force test: 30px-31px-32px-33px-34px-35px-36px-37px-38px-39px-40px --Radaghast 16:17, April 6, 2010 (UTC)

Trap and Spell SVG icons...[edit]

I couldn't help but notice that you did a good job on making the Light, Dark, Earth, Fire, Water, Wind, and Divine attribute SVG icons. Do you think you can also do the Spell and Trap icons? Just asking.
~~LDEJRuff~~ (see what I've contributed) 9:10, 28 May 2010 (EDT)

Sure thing. As long as I have :File:Spell.png, :File:Trap.png and some free time on my hands. I'll let you know when I'm done! --Radaghast 13:16, May 28, 2010 (UTC)

I had an idea. You make a lot of SVGs. Why not do one for Star.png? <font color=#ffad00>Raging Flame Sprite is AWESOME!!!!!</font>StendikaClick here to yell at me.I haz done tihs stuph. (talkcontribs) 23:08, December 6, 2010 (UTC)

Sure, enjoy File:Star.svg.

The PNG version was indeed butt ugly ;) --Radaghast (talkcontribs) 08:12, December 7, 2010 (UTC)

Virus and Trap-Spell?[edit]

Could you make an SVG version of File:Virus.png? And if you could come up with a design for an SVG icon for Trap-Spell Cards, that would be cool too (we don't currently have any icon for it, and I'm not sure whether there even is an official one, so you might want to ask Deltaneos whether he knows any more, of knows someone who does). If you get these, we should be able to replace all the non-Capsule Monsters attribute icons with their SVG versions in CardTable2. ダイノガイ千?!? · Talk⇒Dinoguy1000 06:17, December 20, 2010 (UTC)

As far as I know there is no official icon for Trap-Spell Cards and I think the Virus.png is unofficial. All the Virus and Spell-Trap Cards only appeared in the manga, which doesn't print icons on the cards. But still, I've no problem with vector images for them. -- Deltaneos (talk) 15:51, December 22, 2010 (UTC)
Thanks for the info, Deltaneos! I did what I could at File:Virus.svg and File:Trap-Spell.svg, enjoy. --Radaghast (talkcontribs) 12:12, December 23, 2010 (UTC)
Awesome. Thanks again. -- Deltaneos (talk) 16:40, December 23, 2010 (UTC)
I'll second Delt's sentiments; great work! =) ダイノガイ千?!? · Talk⇒Dinoguy1000 17:10, December 23, 2010 (UTC)

Negative Star[edit]

I noticed your Negative Star image and compared it to the old one. Now I know most people think it's a blue star in a light blue circle due to that it looks like that when it's color is inverted but it's not. It is, in fact, a purple star in a blue circle. Please take the time to correct this if you can. Thank you, --Thanonyx (talkcontribs) 19:02, December 23, 2010 (UTC)

I had no idea why the upload history of File:NegStar.png looked so weird. Thanks for clarification, colours fixed. --Radaghast (talkcontribs) 20:46, December 24, 2010 (UTC)

Rank star[edit]

Hey Radaghast, one more request: would you care to do a touch-up of File:RankStar.svg, which is a recolored version of File:BandaiStar.svg done by Deltaneos? The only image we have of the actual star on a card so far is :File:No39AspiringEmperorHopeYSD6-JP-UR.jpg. Cheers! ダイノガイ千?!? · ☎ Dinoguy1000 00:50, February 17, 2011 (UTC)

Enjoy: 50px I tweaked the colours a bit to what seemed to me as a match with the jpeg example and updated the gradient glare accordingly, hope it suffices. --Radaghast Kary (talkcontribs) 07:58, February 17, 2011 (UTC)
Thanks, looks awesome! The color may have to be further adjusted when we start getting more pictures of Exceed monsters and are better able to tell the exact colors, but it'll definitely do for now. =D ダイノガイ千?!? · ☎ Dinoguy1000 08:00, February 17, 2011 (UTC)

Level star question icon?[edit]

One more request! Could you make a level star question icon based on File:Star.svg, but with a question mark in the center of the image, as (barely) seen on File:AliceinDespairland-JP-Anime-GX.png? (bonus points for a similar icon for attributes!) Thanks! =D ダイノガイ千?!? · ☎ Dinoguy1000 21:56, March 3, 2011 (UTC)

I took a stab at them. (Just added question marks to stuff you'd already done.): File:QuestionStar.svg and File:Unknown Attribute.svg (.png). However the Attribute svg isn't displaying right. If you look at the file itself, it looks fine, but when you use it anywhere the question mark is off centre, larger and not as rounded. -- Deltaneos (talk) 18:18, March 16, 2011 (UTC)
I didn't think of it when I originally posted, but a File:RankStar.svg version of the level star question icon would also be nice. ;) ダイノガイ千?!? · ☎ Dinoguy1000 18:56, March 16, 2011 (UTC)
Sorry I didn't react on time — but seems like you managed pretty well anyway ;) Question Rank Star seems fine to me (I didn't know you've already made it, so I experimented a bit myself — indeed, all light and dark colours are equally bad here, so a choice of red or blue would be more appropriate). I've also fixed your Unknown Attribute, the trick was to turn the text into a path, otherwise the svg is displayed really funny on different renders. Question Star looks fine to me, shouldn't fix what's broken. Please let me know if you need anything else! --Radaghast Kary (talkcontribs) 22:42, March 20, 2011 (UTC)
Thanks for your attention (even if it was late ;) )! The new version of the attribute icon looks great. =D ダイノガイ千?!? · ☎ Dinoguy1000 02:04, March 21, 2011 (UTC)

Logos[edit]

Hey Radaghast, I have a real challenge for you... Would you care to try creating SVG versions of various logos for us? I think some of the simpler ones are those on Yu-Gi-Oh! Official Card Game and Yu-Gi-Oh! Trading Card Game, but I could be wrong. Also, feel free to demonstrate that I am totally and utterly underestimating your SVG skills here. =D ダイノガイ千?!? · ☎ Dinoguy1000 06:00, June 27, 2011 (UTC)

Just pointing out that one of them has already been vectorised on Wikipedia: wikipedia:File:YuGiOh5DsLogo.svg. -- Deltaneos (talk) 10:39, June 27, 2011 (UTC)
Awesome, should we go ahead and upload it here? ダイノガイ千?!? · ☎ Dinoguy1000 18:16, June 27, 2011 (UTC)
I'll have a look at it asap and try to come up with good vectorisations for others as well. Looks challenging, but not completely hopeless ;) --Radaghast Kary (talkcontribs) 13:26, June 28, 2011 (UTC)
Awesome, can't wait to see what you come up with. =D ダイノガイ千?!? · ☎ Dinoguy1000 15:16, June 28, 2011 (UTC)

Types[edit]

Hello, Radaghast! It doesn't look like you're on here regularly, so I hope you're doing well. Looking at the awesome job you've done with the Warrior, Aqua and Dinosaur svgs, was wondering if maybe you could make some for the other Types. It'd be really appreciated, if you ever have the time. :) --Golden Key (talkcontribs) 18:42, May 15, 2012 (UTC)

Magic icon[edit]

I made an icon for Magic Card (45px) before they name it "Spell Card", but I want it in SVG Format, could you please help me. I want to use it in Card Errata pages. --Dlamash (talkcontribs) 10:56, September 14, 2012 (UTC)

Alternatively, you can just modify File:Spell.svg, to get File:Magic.svg.

SVG differences and licensing[edit]

I've been wondering about this for a while. There are a few differences between your SVG icons and the original ones, such as some of the background patterns. Normally when you accurately redraw something it retains its original copyright status, right? Are the changes you made deliberate in order to sidestep the copyright issues? Konami cannot copyright kanji, letters, circles or star shapes, but can copyright non-trivial background patterns. So are you taking the free parts and using your own original work to create something similar, but independent in terms of copyright or were the differences just accidental? -- Deltaneos (talk) 20:50, September 25, 2012 (UTC)
