Re: Don't Mind Helping[edit]

The thing with this game is that's it's gotten much more complicated in the past few years. In 2009, Konami (Company that produces Yu-Gi-Oh (YGO) cards) introduced Synchro Monsters (White Border), and they were first released in The Duelist Genesis. After a few years, they released Xyz Monsters (Black Border) in Generation Force. The new monster cards were created in part by new Anime/Cartoon spinoffs. Synchro monsters were a big part/main focus of Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D's and the Xyz monsters are a big part/main focus of the current anime, Yu-Gi-Oh! ZEXAL.

All the Booster Packs from and including The Duelist Genesis up to Generation Force have Synchros, and all the Booster Packs from Generation Force have only Xyz monsters, as their part of a new set of Boosters. However, Judgement of the Light will have both Xyz and Synchro monsters, but it'll come out later in August, as it's only in the Asian countries right now. Sometimes, Synchro monsters and Xyz monsters will be part of the Collectible tin, note that this year's future tins can be seen at 2013 Collectors Tins. As for the duelist packs, I believe the TCG (North America, Europe, South America, etc.) has stopped receiving them, while the OCG (Japan, Korea, Singapore, etc.) has continued to receive them. The cards that are exclusive to the OCG in the Duelist Packs will come to us via the tins.

Your store officials can probably help you with the tournament stuff, and http://www.yugioh-card.com/ has alot of information as well. Konami also has a list of official Tournament stores posted under the "Events" tab on the US/Canada page, in case you want to check. Although, it shouldn't really matter if the store you're going to is official or not, unless you wish to play in the weekly local tournaments.

Sadly, Konami isn't very good at advertising to parents and informing them as it should be, but there should be a Contact link at the bottom of the US/Canada page. --Dark Ace SP (Talk) 14:36, July 8, 2013 (UTC)

One thing I forgot to mention. The YGO trading card game has a Forbidden & Limited List, which can be seen at http://www.yugioh-card.com/en/limited/index.html. This list changes every 6 months and is updated on March 1st and September 1st of each year, and the decks that really do well at Regional tournaments and Yu-Gi-Oh! Championship Series are "hit" by it, so they become weaker and give other decks a chance to take the spotlight. --Dark Ace SP (Talk) 14:42, July 8, 2013 (UTC)
