Remove second person and unnecessary wording. "Decimate" means "remove one tenth". While its use on the contrary is common, the word is better avoided here.

"Harpie" (ハーピィ Hāpyi) is an archetype composed of femaleWIND Winged BeastDragon-and Beast monsters. "Harpie's BrotherMai Valentine" is not a Harpie, since his Japanese name is "Birdman" (バードマン Bādoman). ==Maximum of 3 Rule==Harpie Ladies usually have the phrase This card's name is treated as "Harpie Lady" in their effect text. Their name is also treated as "Harpie Lady" while uses this archetype in the player's Deck; a player can only have a combination of 3 cards whose name is treated as "Harpie Lady" in their Deck. "Harpie Queenanime" and "Harpie Channeler" are the exception to this rule, since its effect only has her name treated as "Harpie Lady" while she is on the field and in the Graveyard. However this also mean that they are the only "Harpie Lady" that can't be searched by "Birdface" or "Elegant Egotist" but can be searched by "Harpie Channelermanga".
When "Harpie LadiesHarpies" were released (some of the first monsters released that would later become an official archetype), they didn't have much support. From Rise of Destiny onward, however, " Harpies"became more balanced and powerful with occasional support cards released. 1Structure Deck: Lord of the Storm", has aided this archetype with cards such as "2Hysteric Party", and "3's Pet Baby Dragon", while also featuring a lot of other Harpie-related cards in addition to it. Afterwards, "Cyber Harpie LadyQueen"was released in Force of the Breaker, are treated as if their name is providing ways to search "Harpie LadyHarpies' Hunting Ground" at all times for all rules of the game, including in the Deck, hand and Side Deck.
==Media appearances==With the release of In all Harpie-based decks, as she can Special Summon another Harpie monster from the Deck while also assists Xyz Summoning of Rank 4 or 7, while "animeHysteric Sign, the "Harpieshelps searching either " are the signature cards of Mai ValentineElegant Egotist. She often begins with one "or any Harpie" card and uses support cards to accessorize and multiply you may need, depending on how you use it. The Xyz Monster in this archetype, "Joey WheelerHarpie's Pet Phantasmal Dragon also used some "can protect your other Harpie" cards monsters from attacks or targeting effects, along with direct-attacking ability as a reminder of his promise to save Mai from her Penalty Gamewell.
A "Harpie Lady" also appears as a Duel Monster Spirit in Yu-Gi-Oh! GXLegendary Collection 4: Joey's Worldprovides more support for this archetype (while also reprinting important "Harpie"-related cards). She battles The effect of "Jesse AndersonHarpie Dancer and his " can be utilized for reaping more benefits from "Crystal Beast Sapphire PegasusHarpies' Hunting Ground". That same "Harpie Lady" later uses the effect of , or providing more swarming capabilities when coupled with "Elegant EgotistDivine Wind of Mist Valley" to multiply into 3. They also have the Spell Card, but they were defeated by "Sapphire Pegasus" and "Topaz TigerHarpie Lady Phoenix Formation", which can clear the opponent's field of monsters, but disallows the player from Special Summoning monsters from your Deck, Graveyard and skipping their Battle Phase.
In ==Maximum of 3 Rule=="Harpie Lady 1", "Harpie Lady 2", "Harpie Lady 3" and "Cyber Harpie Lady" have the Yu-Gi-Oh! 3D Bonds Beyond Timename condition"(This card's name is always treated as "Harpie Lady".)". Since they all have their name treated as "Harpie Lady" everywhere, at including while in the site of player's Deck's tournament, one a player can only have a total of 3 of any of these cards and/or the spectators cosplays as a Normal Monster "Harpie Lady" in their Main Deck and their Side Deck combined (for example, 1 "Harpie Lady", 1 "Cyber Harpie Lady", and 1 "Harpie Lady2").
In the "Yu-Gi-Oh! Tag ForceHarpie Queen series" and other "Harpies" released after have an effect that treats their own name as "Harpie Lady" while they are on the field or in the Graveyard. However, Jasmine plays a since they are treated as their original name in the Deck, it is possible to have up to 3 of each in addition to 3 cards whose name is treated as "HarpieLady" in the Deck.
When "Harpies" were released, they were an archetype without a lot of support (however, they were also ==Media appearances==In the first fleshed[[Yu-Gi-out archetypeOh! (anime). However, with the release of anime, the "Harpies" became a more balanced and powerful archetype. Since then, Structure Deck 8: Lord of the Storm has aided are the "Harpie" archetype with signature cards such as "of Hysteric PartyMai Valentine". Furthermore, She often begins with one "Harpie Queen" was released in card and uses support cards to accessorize and multiply it. Force of the BreakerJoey Wheeler, and also used some "Cyber ShieldHarpie" was reintroduced cards as a common card in reminder of his promise to save Mai from her Storm of RagnarokPenalty Game.
In A "Harpie Lady" also appears as a Duel Monster Spirit in Lord of the Tachyon GalaxyYu-Gi-Oh! GX, "Harpies" gain new members and support, including the release of the first Harpie . She battles Xyz MonsterJesse Anderson, and his "Harpie's Pet Mirage DragonCrystal Beast Sapphire Pegasus", which is capable of attacking directly as well as protecting your other . That same "HarpieLady" monsters from attacks and targeting effects, as long as it has Xyz Material. Also introduced is later uses the effect of "Harpie ChannelerElegant Egotist"to multiply into 3, which can Special Summon "Harpie" monsters straight from your Deck but they were defeated by discarding 1 "HarpieSapphire Pegasus" monster from your hand, as well as open up Rank 7 plays through it's level-changing effect. Additionally, a new Spell Card is introduced called and "Topaz Tiger", which can search for "Elegant Egotist" and, upon destruction, add 3 "Harpie" monsters with different names from your Deck straight to your hand.
==Censoring==Most "Harpies" in the international release of the game, including all language prints except Japanese, and in the anime have been edited to appear to wear bodysuits while in the Japanese versions they wear much more revealing clothing. "Cyber Harpie LadyJasmine" and "Harpie Lady SistersMindy" have had the spikes extruding from their armor removed due to the suggestiveness. However, some earlier printings of a few of the "Harpie" cards outside of Japan (Specifically dress up as the original "Harpie LadySisters" and "Harpie Girl") were printed without being censoredin Yu-Gi-Oh! GX.
==Play style=="Harpies" combine the ability to be rapidly summoned, to destroy the opponentIn s Spell and Trap Cards, to increase each others attack points and abilities, and to work together to protect each other. They do not have the ability to destroy Spell and Trap cards innately, but the Field Spell Card "Harpies' Hunting GroundYu-Gi-Oh! 3D Bonds Beyond Time" allows the controller of the summoned Harpie or harpies to destroy one Spell or Trap Card when a "Harpie Lady" card is Summoned in any way. They are one of the very few cards that can be Summoned en masse from , at the Graveyard through the effect site of "Hysteric Party". Their support cards, "Harpie's Pet Baby DragonMaximillion Pegasus" and "Harpie's Pet Dragon"tournament, rapidly gain in power and usefulness through effects including protecting other "Harpie" cards and card destruction as the "Harpies" swarm the field. Properly played, "Harpies" can overwhelm the opponent in moments with high attack power and powerful effects, but they are individually not too strong, so they are vulnerable to opponents who Summon strong single Monsters early to whittle down the number one of "Harpies" on the field.<!-- NOTE: spectators cosplays as a "Hysteric Party" works just like Harpie Lady"Call of the Haunted" as you can use it's effect just once, then it sits useless on the field. The discarding a card is an Activation Cost required to activate the card initially, not an ignition effect. -->
WIND Monsters have good capacity to Special SummonIn Yu-Gi-Oh! The Falsebound Kingdom, and as such the Deck can be fast. Although some of the Monsters Harpie Ladies are weakgiven names, cards such as "each based on those of three Harpie sisters from Greek mythology:*Harpie Lady 1", "- Airo (from Aello, ", storm swift")*Hunter OwlHarpie Lady 2" and "- Ocupete (from Ocypete, " can leave you with a field full of enormous Monsters. The tendency of WIND Monsters to destroy Spell and Trap cards (the swift wing")*Raiza the Storm MonarchHarpie Lady 3" & "- Keraino (from Celaeno", even "Icarus Attackthe dark") leaves you able to attack in relative safety.
Many cards from various packs can be quite useful if made an addition to a "Harpie Lady" deck. Many WIND Monsters, such as "In the Hunter Owl", "Simorgh, Bird of Ancestry" and "TwinYu-Gi-Headed BehemothOh! Tag Force" series, have useful effects that can help out in tough situations. In particular, "Stardust DragonJasmine" fits perfectly into this type of deck: it is a high level WIND Monster, and its effect allows you to negate plays a destructive effect, such as that of "Dark Hole" each turn as long as you can keep reviving Harpie"Stardust Dragon" with its own effect, making it a great boost to the Deck's theme of destroying and negating your opponent's Spell and Trap cards. Also, it can be used as a instant Beatstick with "Starlight Road".
If a player is going to use ===Censorship===Synchro Monsters, then they must use proper tunersFile:HarpieLady-JP-Anime-DM-NC. png|left|thumb|"Vortex Harpie Lady" in the WhirlwindJapanese versionMost " is a level 5 Synchro Monster with a swarming effect. Harpies"Glow-Up Bulb" (traditional Format) is easily on in the international release of the best tuners to use as you can use it twicegame, or use "Foolish Burial" to send it to your Graveyard. "Mist Valley Soldier" can be used with a "Harpy" to make "Stardust Dragon"including all language prints except Japanese, and, in an emergency, can be used with "Icarus Attack". "Blackwing - Gale the Whirlwind" can be used with "Icarus Attack" and can cut anime have been edited to appear to wear bodysuits while in half an opponent's monster such as "Caius the Shadow Monarch", Japanese versions they wear much more revealing clothing. "Stardust DragonCyber Harpie Lady", and even "Red-Eyes Darkness Metal DragonHarpie Lady Sisters". More importantly, you can splash "Blackwing Armor Master", who is immune have had the spikes extruding from their armor removed due to crippling cards such as "Shrink" and "Honest", and "Black Rose Dragon", who can clear the fieldsuggestiveness. "Dragunity Darkspear" can be used as either However, some earlier printings of a substitute few of "Monster Reborn" or used to summon the incredibly powerful "Dragunity Knight - TridentHarpie", who can eliminate cards outside of Japan (specifically the most popular archtypes in the game, such as original "Gladiator BeastHarpie Lady" and "BlackwingsHarpie Girl") were printed without being censored.
A possible card to use in this deck is ==Playing style=="Inferno Reckless Summon". You can first use "Elegant EgotistHarpies"combine the ability to be rapidly summoned, "Swallowdestroy the opponent's Nest" or "Hysteric Party" Spell and Trap Cards, and increase their own attack points. More recent Harpie support also places a focus on returning themselves and other monsters to Special Summon any "Harpie Lady" whose attack is 1500 or less after applying continuous effectsthe hand. Then use They do not have the effect of ability to destroy Spell and Trap cards innately, but their Field Spell Card, "Inferno Reckless Summon" to summon more "Harpies". (You cannot use "Inferno Reckless SummonHunting Ground" with "Harpie Lady #1" because it will gain the extra 300 ATK instantly after being summoned allows them to the field, but, should you Special Summon destroy a Spell or Trap Card each time a different "Harpie Lady" such as card is Summoned in any way, in addition to their iconic "Harpie Lady 2's Feather Duster" you would . They can be able to use it as Summoned from the Graveyard in large numbers through the target monster for "Inferno Reckless Summon's" effect, and then Special Summon one or more of "Harpie Lady 1Hysteric Party".) You can use They also have access to "Harpie Channeler's Feather Storm" however to activate ", one of the most powerful Inferno Reckless SummonTraps" since she has only 1400 Atk and is treated as "Harpie Lady" while on in the game that completely shuts down the fieldopponent's monster effects for an entire turn. Since many Properly played, "HarpieHarpies" monsters can overwhelm the opponent in moments with high attack power and powerful effects, but they are treated as "Harpie Ladynot strong individually," you so they are vulnerable to opponents who can also use "Three overpower them, or destroy all of a Kind" to significantly clear the Fieldthem at once.
With Xyz monsters out and the release of new Harpie support cards coming out in Lord of the Tachyon Galaxy, This archetype can have the ability to Xyz summon rank 4 monsters quick with Cards like "Harpie Channeler", "Elegant Egotist", and "Hysteric PartySummoner Monk". , and "Harpie ChannelerHysteric Party" (coming soon) can act like a "Summoner Monk" for allow the Deck to Summon multiple Harpies with quickly and Summon multiple monsters from the cost of 1 Harpie card in your hand, setting up the graveyard for "Hysteric PartyExtra Deck". Their main boss monster is the Harpie ChannelerSynchro can also summon out "Cyber Slash Harpie's Pet DragonLady" straight from your deck making it more easier to summon instead of tributing 2 monsters to summon it, also you which can use any "Harpie Channeler" and "Harpie's Pet Dragon" for an Xyz summon of monster as a rank 7 monster like "Number 11: Big EyeTuner". "Hysteric Sign" (coming soon) The deck can help gain hand advantage by getting an "Elegant Egotist" from your hand or graveyard also can give you any 3 Harpie cards with a different name from your deck upon destruction giving a +3. You can use [Summon Rank 4 and Rank 7 [Harpies' Hunting Ground]] to destroy your "Hysteric Sign" to help get your combos out faster. "Harpie's Pet Mirage Dragon" is a new powerful Xyz monster (coming soon) that can be easily summoned with "Harpie ChannelerMonsters", "Elegant Egotist", "Hysteric Party", and even "Rescue Rabbit" if your using "Harpie Lady" and/or "various Link Monsters". "Harpie's Pet Mirage Dragon" while it has Xyz materials can attack directly also can protect your Harpie monsters from being targeted for attacks and by card effects, but you lose an Some popular Xyz material from this card during the end phase. Another powerful Xyz monster that can be easily summoned in a Harpie deck is Monsters include "Lightning ChidoriIce Beast Zerofyne". Although not strong in ATK, "Lightning Chidori" Has a powerful effect of putting cards they control to their decks ruining their strategies and taking out their strongest monsters, also can give then a dead draw. Harpie monsters can have a capability of summoning rank 4 monsters that require 3 level 4 monsters with ease like "Number 1611: Shock Master" and "Number 32: Shark DrakeBig Eye", and also can summon popular rank 4 monsters like "Number 39: UtopiaMecha Phantom Beast Dracossack". Link monsters include "Harpies' Hunting GroundHarpie Conductor" can be a powerful card by destroying Spell/Trap cards on the field that can hinder you from executing your combos, also can force your opponent to activate their set trap cards like "Bottomless Trap HoleGreatfly", and "Torrential Tribute"Simorgh, "Solemn WarningBird of Sovereignty", etc before they be destroyed by ". Harpies' Hunting Ground" although it puts can easily perform the risk of our own Spell/Trap cards. "Utopia Double" OTK against any monster with 2000 or less ATK (this can also be searched by further utilized with "Terraforming", "Hysteric Sign" and "Harpie Queen" (Sending "Harpie QueenPentestag" to the graveyard sets up the graveyard for "Hysteric PartyOTK"over monsters with 2000 or less DEF).
Other good cards you can add to a Harpie Deck is "Effect Veiler", "Fiendish Chain", and "Breakthrough Skill". These effect negation cards can help patch up weaknesses to Harpies while Harpie Decks have the also excel at generating card advantage with spell/trap removal. "Breakthrough Skill" have a very high potential to use than "Effect Veiler" and "Fiendish Chain" due to it's second effect letting you negate a monsterHarpie's effect by banishing this card from your graveyard (cannot be used on the same turn that this is sent to the graveyard), also this card can be useful against effect monsters powerful effects such as "Rescue RabbitFeather Rest", acts similarly to "Tour Guide from the Underworld", "Neo-Spacian Grand Mole", "Wind-Up Zenmaines", "Leviair the Sea Dragon", "Number 39: Utopia", "Legendary Six Samurai - Shi EnPot of Avarice", etc. "Breakthrough SkillHysteric Sign" can also help against anti-special summoning monsters like "Archlord Kristya" search up to give you a chance to special summon monsters 3 cards in the turn you used it. "Divine WrathEnd Phase" can also be a usable card, although you must discard 1 card in your hand, this card can stop monster effects that including the powerful "Breakthrough Skill", "Effect VeilerHarpie's Feather Duster" and "Fiendish ChainHarpie's Feather Storm" cannot stop, such as "Effect Veiler", "Gorz the Emissary of Darkness", "Sangan", etc. "Sylphine, the Cold Bird BeastWing Requital" coming out in Lord of the Tachyon Galaxy soon in the OCG is a powerful Xyz monster that requires 2 level 4 Winged Beast monsters, also has the ability an option to negate all face-up draw even more cards your opponent controls and gain 300 ATK for each other face-up card when any two Harpies with different original names are on the field until your next Standby Phase by detaching 1 Xyz Material From this card, giving more monster negation power to Harpies while destroying spell/trap cards.
==Weaknesses==Despite the motliness in tactics that "Harpie"s are capable of, there are still Achilees heels witin this archetype that can be capitalized on. For instance, Harpie monsters, except "Cyber Harpie Lady" and "Harpie Queen", are generally low in original ATK and can easily get run over by powerful monsters and are also vaunerable to "King Tiger Wanghu" and "Deck Devastation Virus" . You can add "Harpie Lady 1", "Bladefly", and "Rising Air Current" to avoid these problems, although those Recommended cards can also benefit your opponent's wind monsters. Harpies are capable of swarming the field making mass destruction cards like "Dark Hole", "Torrential Tribute", "Black Rose Dragon" and "Mirror Force" very deadly against this archetype. "Bottomless Trap Hole" is also a dangerous card that can be used on your Harpies special summoned by "Hysteric Party", causing all of them to be destroyed and banished if they have 1500 or more ATK. "Harpies' Hunting Ground" can solve most of these problems, also counter trap cards like "Dark Bribe", "Solemn Judgment", and "Seven Tools of the Bandit" can help with these problems too. Anti-Special summon monsters like "Archlord Kristya" and the Vanity monsters can also cause problems to this Archetype. you can use monster removal cards like "Icarus Attack" and "Spiritual Wind Art - Miyabi" can help with those problems. "Poisonous Winds" is a deadly weakness to all Wind decks, also "Dimensional Fissure" And "Macro Cosmos" can prevent Harpies from hitting the graveyard, Preventing the use of "Hysteric Party" and "Harpie Queen"'s effect. "Harpies' Hunting Ground", "Mystical Space Typhoon", "Heavy Storm", and "Dust Tornado" can solve these problems. "Prohibition" can shut down Harpie Ladies and most of their of there support cards, although it does not prevent "Harpie Queen" and "Harpie Channeler" from being summoned and it can be destoyed by "Mystical Space Typhoon". ==Recommended cards==There are many Winged-Beast support cards, and can be used easily in combination to overwhelm the opponent. ===Monsters==={{Decklist|<!-- This is not an exact Decklist. In Yu-Gi-Oh! The Falsebound Kingdom===Weaknesses===Despite the many powerful combos that "Harpies" are capable of, there are still weaknesses within this archetype that can be capitalized on. For instance, most "Harpie" monsters, except "Cyber Harpie Lady", "Harpie Queen", "Harpie's Pet Dragon" and "Harpie', the Harpie Ladies s Pet Phantasmal Dragon" are given namesgenerally low in original ATK, each based on those of three Harpy sisters from Greek mythologymaking them unsuitable in battle against most high-ATK monsters.
Since this archetype have emphasis on rapid Special Summoning, anti-Special Summoning cards like "Vanity's Emptiness" and "Fossil Dyna Pachycephalo" can be hazardous against this Deck. "Harpie Lady 1El Shaddoll Winda - Airo " can also pose problems as well (from Aello, albeit "storm swiftHysteric Party"can somewhat bypass this).
The Harpies' name-changing effect is more of a hindrance than a help. It prevents the summoning of monsters that require materials with different names, such as the "Harpie Lady 2Knightmare " cards and "Black Luster Soldier - Ocupete (from Ocypete, Soldier of Chaos". Negation effects such as "Effect Veiler"the swift wingor ") Harpie Lady 3Breakthrough Skill " will cause the Harpies to lose their name- Keraino (from Celaenochanging ability, which means "Elegant Egotist" cannot be activated since it specifically requires "Harpie Lady"to be on the field, rendering the dark")cards completely useless.
