These dragons have no legs or arms and only the long, scaled body of a serpent. They are often given poisonous breath and the ability to regenerate or reattach pieces of their body that have been cut off. In Yu-Gi-Oh!, Wyrm monsters resemble dragons, but unlike Dragon monsters, they take more of a spiritual, mythical, metaphysical look. Many Wyrm monsters exhibit Oriental or East Asian influences, such as the "Yang Zing" and "Tenyi" archetypes.  | furigana Like the related Dragon-type, Wyrm Decks often involves assembling weaker Wyrm monsters to summon stronger boss monsters with various disruptive effects. Though, compared to the Dragon-type, Wyrm Decks often has further emphasis on the usage of banishment to either activating their effects or provide recursion for the theme. ==Themes== げんりゅう | romaji = Genryū==TCG/OCG===* Metaphys* Swordsoul* Tenyi* Yang Zing ;Mixed* True Draco* Virtual World  | japanese translated = ==Rush Duel===* Constructor* Demolition | english==Appearance in media==Although Wyrmmonsters made their debut in [[Yu-Gi-Oh! The Type name "Wyrm" is a word in Germanic mythology for dragons.
<gallery>Type-Wyrm-Type monsters resemble dragons, but unlike DAR.png | Duel ArenaType-Type monsters, they take more of a spiritual, mythical and phantasmal look. Most of the intial Wyrm-Type monsters are part of the "LOD2.png | Yang Zing" archetype, which seems to be based on Chinese dragons and/or other animals within Yu-Gi-Oh! Legacy of the lore of China such as tigers (some may be a mix Duelist: Link Evolution|Legacy of the two), resembling "Tiger DragonDuelist: Link Evolution" and "Orient Dragon" (which are both DragonType-Types, not Wyrm-Types)MADU. "png | Master Duel", the type's first generic support card, hints that there is a relationship between the Dragon-Type and the Wyrm-Type.'</gallery>
Trivia
* This monster type Type is similar to the Psychic-Types, who which usually resemble another Type of monster(such as the Machine "Jinzo" monsters). In addition, they also debuted in the first Booster Pack of the a TV series(5D's and ARC-V), in which a new techniques Summoning method (Synchro and Pendulum) was also introduced.** Later, the Cyberse Type followed this similarity, being introduced in the first Booster Pack of summoning Yu-Gi-Oh! VRAINS that introduced Link Summoning.* There are currently no Wyrm Ritual Monsters.* When Wyrms debuted in SEVENS, the main characters believed they were introduced as wellDragon monsters until Luke corrected them. When asked what the difference between the two Types is, Luke said he had no clue, poking fun at the nebulous design distinction between the two Types.<ref name="SEVENS 32">{{episode|Yu-Gi-Oh!
