* [[Foolish Return]] makes an excellent counter to [[Grapha, Dragon Lord of Dark World]], as it not only thickens the opponent's deck, but also makes it more difficult for the opponent to revive him. [[Foolish Return]] can also prevent the opponent from adding [[Red-Eyes Darkness Metal Dragon]] to the hand via [[Eclipse Wyvern]]'s effect, as when it returns [[Eclipse Wyvern]] to the deck, [[Red-Eyes Darkness Metal Dragon]] will stay banished.

  • This card works very well against a deck that requires specific monsters in its Graveyard, such as Synchron Decks, Tele-DAD, or Monarch Swarm.
  • This also stops "Helpoemer"'s effect that forces your discard while he's in the grave. This could also be chained to Frogs, such as "Treeborn Frog" or "Ronintoadin" which bring themselves back from the grave.
  • This can be used as an alternative to "D.D. Crow" or "Disappear" if you or your opponent has an "Imperial Iron Wall" on the field. The card will be sent back to the deck and have to be searched out again to be used again.
  • This card can be used to stop the Special Summoning of "Wulf, Lightsworn Beast" and/or the Fusion Summons performed by "Tearlaments" monsters.
    • For the latter purpose, exert caution: if your opponent controls "Primeval Planet Perlereino", they will still be able to target and destroy a card if you use "Foolish Return" to stop their Summons.
  • This card makes an excellent counter to "Grapha, Dragon Lord of Dark World", as it not only thickens the opponent's deck, but also makes it more difficult for the opponent to revive it.
  • If the opponent uses "Monster Reincarnation" , you can use this to shuffle the targeted monster into the deck, instead and gain some time until the opponent adds the monster to his hand
