Forum:Negate AND Destroy?

If Dark Valkyria uses her effect to destroy Shooting Star Dragon, or Stardust Variant, while Energy Bravery is on the field (Or some similar protection combination), since the monster could not be destroyed (the effect says negate AND destroy), would Dark Valkyria's effect destroy the monster or would it be negated with no monster being destroyed? -NEWD

Costs will be paid, and the effect will be negated; but the monster won't be destroyed. The same applies to the other Stardusts. They can also negate effects, even if they can't destroy them. -Falzar FZ- (talk page|useful stuff) 07:53, February 23, 2011 (UTC)

Say "Royal Oppression", "Forgotten Temple of the Deep", and "Imperial Custom" are face-up on my field. My opponent's "Blackwing - Shura the Blue Flame" attacks my "Genex Undine". I remove it. During the End Phase, my opponent pays for "Royal Oppression" and keeps "Undine" out of play. "Temple" is still on the field. Oppression only negates that 1 effect that activated (Special Summon it during your End Phase.), and it only negates that effect Once.

You can activate the "Once per turn, you can select and remove from play 1 face-up Level 4 or lower Fish-Type, Sea Serpent-Type or Aqua-Type monster you control.
