Defeating all three of the "Blue-Eyes White Dragon" cards proves difficult. Will the real Kaiba reach Yugi in time to help beat this impersonator?}}
Summary
Yugi manages to destroy Ghost Kaiba's "Blue-Eyes White Dragon". Ghost Kaiba promptly plays another "Blue-Eyes White Dragon". He laughs, reminding Yugi that there are only three "Blue-Eyes White Dragon" cards in existence and they're all in his Deck. Yugi's Grandpa had the fourth, but Ghost Kaiba says that he ripped it up. Ghost Kaiba claims his knowledge of this event proves his identity as Kaiba. He relates the events of that match, claiming that without "Exodia", Yugi can't win.
Meanwhile, the real The fake ghost of Kaiba is still in his secret underground computer room. His computer tells him it's rerouting the data from Arena 146 so they can confirm whether Yugi is dueling there, though Kaiba is already sure he is. The computer finds Yugi at the arena and points out Yugi's opponent: "Seto Kaiba." Kaiba can't believe it, but the computer assures him it's true, and the opponent is using Kaiba's Deck. Kaiba says that Pegasus must have taken his Deck. The computer goes on to tell him that the duelists are tied, but the impostor has just attacked with his second "Blue-Eyes White Dragon" on the field, after targeting one of Yugi's "Dark MagicianMagical Hats" and . If the attack hits the "Magical HatsDark Magician". contained within the "Hats", Yugi currently has will have no cards in playmonsters left. However, the attack of "Blue-Eyes" destroys the rightmost "Hat", which is revealed to be empty, and it"Dark Magician" survives. On Yugi's his moveturn, he Sets a card face-down, which conceals itself within one of the remaining "Hats". Yugi reveals that the card he played is a Trap Card, and if Ghost Seto attacks the wrong "Hat", then there will be a surprise waiting for him.
Kaiba echoes his impostor's claimGhost Seto orders "Blue-Eyes" to attack the middle "Hat". Yugi calls it a nice choice, and reveals that without under the "ExodiaHat", that Ghost Seto attacked was Yugi can't win against the s Trap, "Blue-Eyes White DragonsSpellbinding Circle". He has no other cards in his Deck strong enough to stand up against It activates, reducing the ATK of "Blue-Eyes White Dragon", let alone two of themby 700 and making it unable to change its battle position. Yugi will lose on orders his next turn unless Kaiba can decrease the "Dark Magician" to attack "Blue-Eyes's" power . It emerges from there (in the original Japanese version, Kaiba is astonished that Yugi managed to destroy even one of the right hat and destroys "Blue-Eyes White Dragons" without "Exodia", but nonetheless recognizes Yugi's current dilemma). He plans to upload with a virus into the arena's holocomputer to weaken the Blue-Eyesmagic attack. The computer suggests they wait to see YugiGhost Seto's next move, but Kaiba says they can't afford Life Points fall to risk Yugi losing the Duel, and orders the viral injection upload500.
Back at Before Mokuba can even finish celebrating, another "Blue-Eyes" appears on the arenafield, which attacks and destroys "Dark Magician" with an energy blast. Ghost Seto asks if Yugi realizes he doesn't have any monsters forgot that can stand up to the his Deck contains three "Blue-Eyes White Dragon Dragons", and says that he might lose. being afraid of Ghost Kaiba tells him this Duel Seto is overcausing Yugi to make careless mistakes. He still has "Defense Paralysis" active(In the dub, so whatever monster Yugi plays wonhe reiterates that there't be able to defend itself. s no way Yugi plays could beat three "Blue-Eyes" without the power of his lost "Feral ImpExodia" in Attack Position.
The Meanwhile, the real Seto Kaiba is still back at his hideout alongside his virtual computer. Despite a warning being given that detects Seto's intrusion, watching the he is still able to access Duel on screenArena #146, wishes where Yugi had waited a few more seconds before making his moveis Dueling. He asks accesses the data of the active Duel, which to his shock has the computer if it can't get Duelists listed as Yugi Muto and Seto Kaiba. Seto is disgusted that virus uploaded any fastersomeone else is using his Deck. The computer tells him theyinforms Seto of the Duel're already halfway there s status, and although he is impressed that Yugi took down a "Blue-Eyes" without "Exodia", he sees that its current speed Yugi is as fast as it goesbacked into a corner with no more cards that can defeat a "Blue-Eyes", let alone two. The viral implant is sixty percent completed, but it doesn't seem Seto tells the computer to be working, upload a virus into the "Blue-Eyes White Dragon's" on the field, which will decrease its ATK is still at 3000. Kaiba worries that something is wrongpoints.
Ghost Kaiba orders Back at the Duel Arena, Yugi thinks that nothing in his hand can defeat a "Blue-Eyes" . Furthermore, with Ghost Seto having "Defense Paralysis" on the field, Yugi isn't able to attackSummon monsters in Defense Position to stall for time, either. Resigned, Yugi Summons his "Feral Imp" in Attack Position - but with only 1300 ATK, it will have no hope of surviving an attack from a "Blue-Eyes". Back in the dragon doesnhideout, Seto't moves virus is taking a long time to upload, and he yells at his computer to hurry up. The virus has finally started (In the dub, he wishes that Yugi took a little longer to take effectmake his move. )
Kaiba watches Ghost Seto orders "Blue-Eyes" to attack "Feral Imp", which would win him the Duel. Suddenly, light beams start emerging from "Blue-Eyes's" and its body begins glitching. Back at the hideout, Seto sees that the ATK drain away, down of "Blue-Eyes" is finally starting to 2900, then drop. Ghost Seto calls to 2800"Blue-Eyes", but itasking what's still too strongwrong, as its body begins melting away. It has In the dining room of Pegasus Castle, Pegasus tells Croquet to get weakercontact the central control room, or it will still beat Yugiand adds that there's only one possible explanation for this - the real Seto Kaiba is alive.
Yugi and Ghost Kaiba also watch In the hideout, Seto sees that his virus implant was successful - the ATK of "Blue-Eyes's" ATK go down, wondering what's going onis at 2300 and still falling. The dragon begins He tells his computer to meltbegin work on injecting a virus into the third "Blue-Eyes", its hologram breaking when suddenly the computer freezes upand informs him that the ATK of "Blue-Eyes" has stopped decreasing. Several pictures of Bunny contacts Pegasus on , who laughs and sips his radio to tell him about the problemwine. (In At the Japanese versionsame time, Saruwatari just wonders whatseveral goons burst into Seto's going onmansion.)
Pegasus The computer unfreezes and informs Seto that the ATK of "Blue-Eyes" is in still at 2000 and is no longer dropping - and it's launching its "Burst Stream" attack. With both Yugi and Seto out of options, Seto slams his dining hall, watching the duel fists on the computer screentable in despair and calls out Yugi's name. Croquet asks how Back at the Duel Arena, Yugi did that, but Pegasus says hears Seto's cry in his head just before the "Burst Stream" hits him. As it wasn't s about to engulf Yugi, the attack suddenly fizzles out. The last of the body of the "Blue-Eyes" melts away, and then it was is destroyed. Ghost Seto Kaibais stunned, while Mokuba and the gang cheer. Seto asks the computer to analyze why "It seemsBlue-Eyes" was destroyed," he but the computer says it cannot. Seto saysthat there can only be one explanation - the Heart of the Cards. Suddenly, "that he hears beeping from the real Seto Kaiba is still very much alivesecurity system behind him."
Kaiba Back at the Arena, Yugi tells his computer to get ready to implant an enraged Ghost Seto that the only explanation for this is that the virus on real Seto is still alive. Mokuba celebrates and tells a confused Téa that the third only person who could have destroyed "Blue-Eyes"is Seto, but just then, meaning that Seto is still alive. Yugi implores the fake to reveal his real identity now that his screen starts to break upcharade is over. The computer says theyfake've been locked out s disguise bursts off of his body and he is revealed to be the clown-like Impersonator of Death. He tells Yugi that he was sent by a remote terminalIndustrial Illusions and it's time for them to have some fun. A cartoon rabbit appears on (In the screendub, sayinghe keeps up the charade, "Hey, Kaiba." Kaiba realizes itclaiming that he is Seto's evil side brought back from the Shadow Realm by Pegasus.)
Back at PegasusMeanwhile, five goons burst into Seto's castleof this news, but Pegasus chuckle tells him to leave Seto alone and drinking watch how the rest of this Duel plays out. (In the cupdub, while his goons move in on Kaiba's mansionPegasus radios Kemo at the Duel Arena and tells him to not let Mokuba get away, breaking in the front doorno matter what.)
The Kemo thinks that despite the Impersonator still being found out, his Deck still contains one more "Blue-Eyes White Dragon". The Impersonator thinks this too, and that if he draws it, there'sno way Yugi will be able to pull off another miracle. He Summons his " attack strength holds at 2000Grappler" in Defense Position. Kaiba protests Yugi thinks that this should have workedthe Impersonator is just stalling until he can draw his final "Blue-Eyes", as the computer tells him and that if that happens, Yugi will lose. Yugi Sets a card and Summons his "Celtic Guardian" in Attack Position, which attacks and destroys "Grappler". The Impersonator keeps stalling, Setting a card and Summoning "Mystic Horseman" in Defense Position. Yugi next Sets another card, then Summons "Mystical Elf" and comboes it's launching with "Book of Secret Arts" to increase its ATK to 1100 before ending his turn. The Impersonator thinks that he strengthened "Mystical Elf" to survive the attackof "Mystic Horseman", but thinks it'll all be pointless if he can draw his final "Blue-Eyes".
Ghost Kaiba tells The Impersonator triumphantly reveals that his dragon next card is the third "Blue-Eyes White Dragon". He Summons it in Attack Position. Mokuba thinks that it's fine, because Seto can help Yugi again, but Kemo says that since "Blue-Eyes" isn't deteriorating this time , Yugi has no help left. The Impersonator orders "Blue-Eyes" to obliterate themattack with "Burst Stream of Destruction", and the gang all watch in horror. Kaiba calls out but Yugi's nameactivates his Set "Mirror Force", which would destroy "Blue-Eyes" and win Yugi hears himthe Duel, but the Impersonator activates "Negate Attack" to cancel the attack of "Blue-Eyes".
The attack stopsNow on Yugi's turn, and the dragon disintegrateshe declares that he still has his trump card left. The He activates "Monster Reborn" to bring back "Blue-Eyes" has heard its real master, with Yugi declaring that it isn't the Impersonator's card that he's callbringing back, and destroyed itselfit's Seto's. KaibaThe Impersonator says that Yugi's computer tells him move is futile and that the dragon is destroyedhe's aiming for mutual destruction, but the virus wasnYugi says that isn't responsible. the case - his "Then how?Mystical Elf" Kaiba askshas been chanting a magic spell ever since it appeared on the field which allows it to transfer its ATK to another monster. "Did Yugi somehow do says that this? The computer asks, move was inspired by Seto - who showed him that you can alter the attack power of a "Blue-Eyes"How could he? It. Yugi's your Deck." Then Kaiba saysBlue-Eyes" powers up to 4100 ATK, "Itand Yugi attacks the Impersonator's "Blue-Eyes" with "Holy Burst Stream", destroying it and reducing the Heart of the Cards. Yugi was right." Then he notices his door lock being activated. PegasusImpersonator's henchmen are about Life Points to break in0.
Ghost Kaiba panics. Yugi tells him declares that Kaibahe will never forgive the Impersonator for disrespecting Seto's still alive deck and he stopped the impostorplaying with people's hearts. Ghost Kaiba continues to insist that heA glowing eye appears on Yugi's Kaibaforehead, while and he MokubaMind Crush celebrates es the Impersonator. Still glowing, he tells Pegasus that he knows that he's listening, that his brother is alivedisrespect towards Seto will not be tolerated, and that Pegasus had better be ready. Téa asks whatPegasus's going onwine glass shatters in his hands, and Mokuba explains he says that the last Yugi has developed strong shadow powers in a very short time they Dueled, - and that makes Pegasus even more excited to defeat Yugi showed with his brother the Heart of the Cards. He explains that the impostor may have taken his Deck, but the real Seto Kaiba is alive and wellown hands. (In the Japanesedub, Mokuba he says that Yugi's Millennium Puzzle will be his brother is the only one who can stop the Blue-Eyes White Dragon. That was his brother. His brother isn't dead.)
Back at the Duel Arena, Yugi tells Ghost Kaiba that the real takes Seto Kaiba destroyed that monster. Yugi knows because he sensed Kaiba calling out to him when it happened's deck. (JapaneseHowever, Yugi says it proves that Kaiba is alive. Now he can concentrate on the Duel. Then he tells the Ghost Téa soon realizes that he should reveal himself. Yugi doesn't want to continue dueling with him as he is.) Ghost Kaiba reveals his true form (Ghost Kaiba was known as Mimic of Doom in the English anime and Mokuba is called the Death Imitator in the Japanese version), as a monstrous clowngone again, and tells them he is the evil part of Kaiba that was banished to the Shadow Realm by Yugi, brought back by Pegasus (in the Japanese version, the Death Imitator says he prefers looking like this. He was sent by Industrial Illusions to take on the identity of a dead person. Then he asks Yugi to Duel with Kemo must have taken him. The flashback of Yugi Mind Crushing Kaiba from their first Duel is added in the English version)away.
Pegasus's henchmen storm into Kaiba's computer room, but Kaiba already left (their guns are removed from the English version). Croquet orders them to search the grounds, while Pegasus, looking on from his castle, muses that this is one twist even he didn't foresee (in the Japanese version, Pegasus says he can't believe the "Blue-Eyes White Dragon" would be dismissed. Good for Yugi, luck is part of his ability). Croquet then reports the bad news to Pegasus that they've lost the real Kaiba again, and Pegasus mutters that that's two escapes, must he lock Croquet away? Again? (Japanese Pegasus, however, is pretty blasé about the whole thing, just saying, "No problem," and that they should just watch the rest of the Duel.) He tells Croquet to get Kemo on the radio. Mokuba taunts the clown, telling him he'd better start worrying about what his brother's going to do to him when he catches up with him. (Japanese, Mokuba tells the clown that those cards are his brother's, and no one else can use them.) Kemo gets a message from Pegasus telling him that Kaiba's gotten away, and not to lose the little one, no matter what. (Japanese, Kemo doesn't get any message. He thinks, Yugi survived that obstacle, but Kaiba still has one more Blue-Eyes White Dragon.) Yugi says to the imposter, "I don't know what to call you now. I was thinking of 'monster', but I don't want to insult the cards." Then he tells his opponent it's his move. He's got a whole Deck to go through, and only one "Blue-Eyes" left. (Japanese, Yugi tells the clown he hasn't got any monsters on the field. Go ahead and summon one. The clown thinks he still has another Blue-Eyes. Yugi won't get another miracle.) They continue to Duel (in the Japanese, the Imitator suddenly appears as Pegasus, telling Yugi he's going to get it now). The impostor tells Yugi it will soon be all over. Yugi's friends taunt the impostor. Finally, the impostor draws the third Blue-Eyes White Dragon. Mokuba assures Yugi that Kaiba will help him again, but Kemo knows Kaiba's no longer at his computer, pointing out that Blue-Eyes has its full 3000 ATK. He says they found Kaiba's hiding place and caused him to run, eliminating the possibility of more outside help. Yugi plays "Reborn the Monster" on "Blue-Eyes White Dragon". The Mimic says that won't do Yugi any good, the two Blue-Eyes are evenly matched. But Yugi says their powers are not the same. He still has "Mystical Elf" on the field, chanting a spell that allows her to transfer her ATK to any monster he chooses. Yugi says this move was inspired by Seto Kaiba himself, who showed him that you can alter the power of a "Blue-Eyes White Dragon". But he's raising his to 4100 rather than lowering it, as Kaiba did to the impostor's. "Consider this a message from the real Seto Kaiba," Yugi says. "You lose!" Yugi's "Blue-Eyes" destroys the Ghost's "Blue-Eyes", winning the Duel. Then Yugi uses his Mind Crush on the Ghost, sending it back to the Shadow Realm. Yugi issues a warning to Pegasus, who he knows is watching. "Nothing will stop me," he says. "I'm coming for you, Pegasus!" Pegasus's wine glass shatters in his hand. Pegasus chuckles grimly, saying that Yugi has developed his Shadow powers quite a bit in such a short time, but when they finally Duel, Yugi's Millennium Puzzle will be his. Yugi retrieves Kaiba's Deck from the impostor's side of the arena. They notice Mokuba is missing, wondering where he is. Kemo left with him. ==Featured Duel: Yami Yugi vs. Ghost Fake Kaiba/Mimic Impersonator of DoomDeath==

Differences in adaptations
* Most of the text in the control room are erased or replaced with some kind of symbol.

* The flashback of Yugi Mind Crushing Kaiba from their first Duel is added to the dub.

* When Pegasus's goons storm Kaiba's computer room, the guns they are holding are removed in the dub.

* In the original, the Impersonator of Death suddenly appears as Pegasus and tells Yugi he's going to get it now. This sequence is removed from the dub.

* The Impersonator of Death's "Negate Attack" is changed to a Trap Card in the dub. In the original, it is a Magic Card.

* When Pegasus' wine glass shatters, he has wine on his hand, the wine on Pegasus' hand is erased from the dub.

Errors
* When Kaiba hacks into the dueling system to view Yugi's duel, the computer indicates that Yugi is just beginning his turn and has no cards on the field. However, the visual display shows that Yugi controls "Feral Imp" and "Magical Hats" on his field. At this point in the duel, the effect of "Magical Hats" should already have expired, and Yugi has yet to summon the "Feral Imp".

Trivia
* This is the last episode to feature Sam Riegel as Tristan Taylor. Greg Abbey replaces him for all episodes beyond this one.

* Despite "Mystic Horseman" being played in the Duel, it doesn't make an appearance at all.

* "Give up the ghost" is an idiom that basically means "to accept death". The use of this idiom as the episode's dub title is a reflection (in the dub) of how the Impersonator of Death, a shadow of Kaiba's dark side that was still able to Duel, was ultimately sent back to the Shadow Realm by Yugi.

* In the dub, after "Grappler" is destroyed, the Impersonator of Death said, "Parting is such sweet sorrow", which is a reference to Romeo and Juliet. This is also a pun, as "Grappler" had literally been parted in two.
