First Arc
Nyandestar was sitting in a field on the outskirts of Mutsuba Town, searching for a suspected alien target, when she was surprised by Yuhi Ohdo shouting about aliens. Yuhi tried to catch Nyandestar, but Nyandestar clawed his face and fled. Nyandestar later went over footage of Yuhi and his sister Yuamu entering an invisible spaceship with Manabu at the MIK Headquarters, who decided the situation required further investigating. They went to UTS, the Ohdo twins' alien extermination company, where Manabu posed as a client while Nyandestar scouted the UTS Main Office, learning there were eight elderly employees in addition to the Ohdo twins and their alien target. Manabu's deception was discovered, and Nyandestar revealed herself to the Ohdo twins as Manabu took some of Yuhi's cards into custody due to alien contamination, unwilling to Rush Duel Yuhi for being so careless with his cards. Yudias Velgear then arrived, and Nyandestar confirmed he was an alien. To Nyandestar's surprise, Yudias convinced Manabu to Rush Duel over his custody, and Nyandestar sat atop a drum outside as they Rush Dueled, shocked by Yudias' Galaxy Type monsters and his early lead over Manabu. Manabu was able to counterattack, and Nyandestar believed Yudias hadn't drawn any monsters on his next turn, mocking his Deck-building skills. However Manabu noted Yudias had definitely drawn monsters and consoled Yudias over a complex he had regarding Tributing his monsters. To Nyandestar's shock, a spotlight shone on Yudias and voices chanted his name as he celebrated the revelation of Manabu's words, and he Tribute Summoned "Galactica Oblivion" and defeated Manabu. Manabu agreed to let them go, and Nyandestar was shocked to learn Yudias' spaceship Valivelgear Valvelgear contained 8.8 million Velgearians, retreating with Manabu and the other MIK members.
Nyandestar and Manabu learned of serial attacks across Mutsuba Town and tracked down the culprit, Chupataro Kaburagi, though UTS had already found him. Chupataro refused to be arrested, so Yuamu challenged him to a Rush Duel; to Nyandestar's exasperation, Manabu agreed after Yudias reminded him a Rush Duel was the tool of a warrior. Yuamu successfully defeated Chupataro and got him to stop his attacks, allowing Nyandestar and Manabu to take him away. Chupataro proved uncooperative to interrogation, eventually showing them a Gold Earth Permit after Nyandestar threatened to send him underground and claiming his family had served as the inspiration for chupacabras, a term Nyandestar was unfamiliar with, meaning MIK had no jurisdiction over him and forcing them to release him. However the following Sunday Yuamu called Manabu and explained Yudias had gone missing due to Chupataro's actions, and had tracked them to the Mutsuba Heavy Machinery Garbage Collection Site #8. Nyandestar accompanied Manabu and several MIK agents arrived just in time to save Yuhi from being attacked by Chupataro and arrested him, warning him his Gold Earth Permit would be revoked for trespassing. Nyandestar told Yuhi and Yudias they had trespassed too, but let them go due to their aid in capturing Chupataro. Nyandestar succeeded in tracing Chupataro's communications to the Velgear Star Cluster, as Chupataro again refused to cooperate; Manabu only able to succeed in making him tear up at the mention of his family, but Nyandestar believed it wasn't remorse. Nyandestar revealed Chupataro's communication to Manabu, so they went to Kappa Heavenly Cleaning, where Yudias, Yuhi and Yuamu currently were, to ask Yudias if he knew who Chupataro was communicating with. Nyandestar and Manabu later responded to an alert in a warehouse, finding Zuwijo zir Velgear and Mitsuko Hiramori with Yudias, Yuhi and Yuamu. They successfully captured Mitsuko, but Zuwijo escaped.
Due to their work capturing interstellar kriminals, Nyandestar and Manabu were given an afternoon off, which they spent at CAFÉ. Unfortunately Yuhi and Yudias drove through their table on an out-of-control tractor, scooping them up; Nyandestar ended up clinging to the tractor cab talking to Yuhi. Yuhi informed them the tractor couldn't be stopped unless Yudias answered all 100 Saikyo Rush Duel questions. Nyandestar and Manabu were forced to watch Yudias slowly answer the questions, and he reached the 100th question as the tractor drove towards a cliff. Yudias struggled with the final question, naming all the Types in the game, but eventually recited them all in a rap, successfully stopping the tractor on the edge of the cliff. A pigeon then perched on the tractor, overbalancing it, though they were rescued by ValivelgearValvelgear.
Nyandestar and Manabu investigated another alien report, tracking it to Mutsuba Cable Studio. They barged onstage, but found no trace of the alien and sat in the audience after the MC asked them to. They watched the ensuing Rush Duel between Yuamu and Manya Atachi, Nyandestar was shocked when the girls claimed they had been acting conflict between them, but Nyandestar suddenly sensed traces of an alien. Manya chose Manabu as the second Duelist to represent the local team, Dueling her dog Bochi, who Manabu had known while training. Manabu was overjoyed to see Bochi, a look Nyandestar ruefully noted he'd never shown her, but shocked when Bochi transformed and revealed he was an alien, accusing Manabu of abandoning him. During the Duel, Bochi congratulated Manabu's Sogetsu Style, which Manabu explained to be a martial art he'd practiced in his youth, though he had resented using it to hurt people and had found solace with Bochi until they were discovered and he was forced into training; Bochi had been missing when Manabu returned and Manabu had joined MIK to find him. Nyandestar was touched by Manabu's tragic past, but incensed when Bochi revealed he had tried to infiltrate Sogetsu Style through Manabu to destroy it with his Wicked Fist of the Beloved Dog. Nyandestar was worried when Bochi depleted most of Manabu's LP, but Manabu Summoned "Chemicalize Salamander" on his next turn and used its effect to take advantage of the large number of monsters Bochi had sent to the Graveyard to lower the ATK of his monsters and defeat him. After the Duel Bochi burst into proud tears, explaining he had long given up the Wicked Fist of the Beloved Dog style to become Manya's protector. Nyandestar asked why Bochi had claimed to want revenge, and Manya explained Bochi had simply wanted to test Manabu's skills.
