OCG Rulings

  • The (1) effect of this card is a Continuous Effect. If you Synchro Summon "Chaofeng, Phantom of the Yang Zing" by using 1 "Yang Zing" Tuner and 1 "Yang Zing" non-Tuner, your opponent cannot activate the effects of monsters with the same Attribute as either original Attribute of those 2 monsters. The (2) effect of this card is a Trigger Effect that activates in the Graveyard. (It does not target, and you can activate it during the Damage Step.) The (3) effect of this card is a Trigger Effect. (It does not target, and you can activate it during the Damage Step. Also, if this card battles an opponent’s monster with the same ATK and both monsters are destroyed, you cannot activate this effect.)[3]
  • If "Chaofeng, Phantom of the Yang Zing" is Synchro Summoned using "Tatsunoko" and "Bixi, Water of the Yang Zing from the field and "Suanni, Fire of the Yang Zing from the hand, the opponent will be unable to activate the effects of WATER and FIRE monsters.[4]
  • If "Phantom of Chaos" has changed its name to "Pulao, Wind of the Yang Zing" and is used to Synchro Summon "Chaofeng, Phantom of the Yang Zing, your opponent will be unable to activate the effects of DARK monsters, as that is the original Attribute of "Phantom of Chaos".[4]
  • If "Chaofeng, Phantom of the Yang Zing" is Synchro Summoned while the effect of "Macro Cosmos" is applying, causing the Synchro Materials to be banished, the first effect of "Chaofeng" will still apply.[4]
  • If "Chaofeng, Phantom of the Yang Zing is Synchro Summoned while the effect of "Skill Drain" is applying, the effects of "Chaofeng" will be negated but if "Skil Drain" stops applying, the first effect will be restored.[4]
  • If "Chaofeng, Phantom of the Yang Zing" switches control via "Creature Swap" after it is Synchro Summoned, the first effect of "Chaofeng" will now apply to you instead of your opponent as your opponent is the controller.[4]
  • If a Synchro Material of used for the Synchro Summon of "Chaofeng, Phantom of the Yang Zing" is lter removed from the Graveyard, the first effect of "Chaofeng" will still apply.[4]
  • If "Chaofeng, Phantom of the Yang Zing" is sent to the Graveyard after being Synchro Summoned and is then Special Summoned from the Graveyard, neither its first or second effect will apply.[4]
  • If "Chaofeng, Phantom of the Yang Zing" is Synchro Summoned and then changed to face-down Defense Position via "Book of Moon" and then it destroyed by battle or card effect, its second effect can still be activated.[4]
  • If Chaofeng, "Phantom of the Yang Zing" is destroyed by an effect that was activated at Chain Link 2 or higher, its second effect cannot be activated.[4]
  • The second effect of "Chaofeng, Phantom of the Yang Zing" can be activated during either player's turn.[4]
  • If two monsters on the opponent's field are destroyed at the same time, the third effect of "Chaofeng, Legend of the Yang Zing" can be activated. In that case, choose 1 of the 2 destroyed monsters and Special Summon 1 Wyrm-Type monster from your Deck with the same Attribute as that monster’s original Attribute.[4]
  • If a face-down Defense Position monster on the opponent's field it destroyed, the third effect of "Chaofeng, Phantom of the Yang Zing" can be activated.[4]
  • If a monster your opponent controls that was owned by you is destroyed, the third effect of "Chaofeng, Phantom of the Yang Zing" can be activated.[4]
  • The third effect of "Chaofeng, Phantom of the Yang Zing" can be activated is a Pendulum Monster on the opponent's field t destroyed, even if said monster is banished by "Macro Cosmos".[4]
