OCG Rulings

  • The effect of "Divine Wind of Mist Valley" can only be activated by the controller of "Divine Wind of Mist Valley".[1]
  • The effect of "Divine Wind of Mist Valley" can be activated when a WIND monster in the Monster Zone of the controller of "Divine Wind of Mist Valley" is returned to your hand or your opponent's hand.[1]
  • The effect of "Divine Wind of Mist Valley" can be activated not only when a WIND monster is returned to the hand by a card effect, but also when it is returned to the hand as a cost to activate a card effect.[1]

Q&A Rulings

A: If a monster that is treated as WIND by the effect of "DNA Transplant" is returned from the field to the hand, the effect of "Divine Wind of Mist Valley" can be activated.[2]
A: In this scenario, since a "Quantum Cat" treated as a WIND monster was returned to your hand, you can activate the effect of "Divine Wind of Mist Valley".[3][4]

TCG Rulings

  • You can activate this effect during either player’s turn.[5]
  • You can activate this effect if you control your opponent’s WIND monster and it is returned to his hand.[5]
  • Your opponent cannot use the effect of this card.[5]
  • You can activate this effect if a monster that was changed to WIND by "DNA Surgery" [sic] is returned to the hand.[5]
  • You cannot activate this effect when a WIND-Attribute Token would be returned to the hand.[5]
  • You can activate this effect if a WIND monster is returned to the hand to pay the cost of an effect. In that case you activate the effect after the current Chain resolves.[5]
