TCG Rulings

  • This effect targets 1 monster your opponent controls. It can even target face-down monsters.[1]
  • The damage dealt is half of the ATK of the monster while it was on the field. If you destroy a face-down monster, no damage is dealt.[1]

OCG Rulings

  • The effect that destroys 1 monster your opponent controls is an Ignition Effect that can only be activated if you have no cards in your hand. (It is applied as usual even if you no longer have 0 cards in your hand when the effect resolves.)[2]
  • This effect targets 1 monster in your opponent's Monster Zone. (It can also target a face-down monster.)[2]
  • Destroying the targeted monster and inflicting damage are considered to happen at the same time.[2]
  • The damage inflicted by this effect is equal to half the ATK the destroyed monster had on the field. (If the targeted monster is in face-down Defense Position, that monster is destroyed, but your opponent takes no damage.)[2]
  • "This card cannot attack during the same turn you activate this effect" is not treated as an effect. "Infernity Doom Dragon" cannot attack during the Battle Phase if it activated its effect, also "Infernity Doom Dragon" cannot activate its effect during the Main Phase 2 if it attacked.[2]
