OCG Rulings

  • The effect of this card is an Ignition Effect. (It does not target.)[1]
  • When the effect resolves, each player reveals 1 card in their hand. If their card types (Monster, Spell, or Trap) are different, they stop being revealed and the effect ends.[1]
  • If their card types (Monster, Spell, or Trap) are the same, the corresponding "●" effect is applied based on their type.[1]
  • When resolving the "● Monster" effect, each player can Special Summon their revealed monster. (If a player chooses not to Special Summon, the monster stops being revealed.)[1]
  • When resolving the "● Spell" effect, each player draws 2 cards. (The revealed Spell Cards then stop being revealed.)[1]
  • When resolving the "● Trap" effect, each player chooses any 2 cards in their Deck and sends them to the Graveyard. (The revealed Trap Cards then stop being revealed.)[1]

Q&A Rulings

A: You can chain the effect of "Ash Blossom & Joyous Spring" to the effect of "Two-for-One Team". In that case, the effect is negated, so neither player reveals a card in their hand.[2]
  • Q: When the effect of "Two-for-One Team" resolves, if each player reveals a monster, the effect "Each player can Special Summon their revealed monster" is applied, but what is the procedure for doing so?
A: When applying the "● Monster" effect of "Two-for-One Team", the turn player first decides whether or not they wish to Special Summon their monster, followed by their opponent. If both players wish to Special Summon their monster, the 2 monsters are Special Summoned simultaneously.[3]
  • Q: If either player has only 1 card in their Deck, can I activate the effect of "Two-for-One Team"?
A: Even if you or your opponent have 1 card in your Deck, you can activate the effect of "Two-for-One Team". In this case, if both players reveal a Spell Card, then each player must draw 2 cards, but any player unable to do so will lose the Duel. Also, if both players reveal a Trap Card, each player must send 2 cards from the top of their Deck to the Graveyard, but a player with no cards left in their Deck will not send any. (A player must have 2 or more cards in their Deck to send any cards to the Graveyard.)[4]
